I've been using this product for about a month, and so far it's been pretty good. I used to use ON's whey protein, but although I loved everything about it at first, eventually it didn't agree with my lactose intolerance so I wanted to try their soy protein. I agree with what some others have said about the taste though. When I first tried it I thought it was horrible, so I would just chug it and try not to taste it. I think I've gotten used to it after a couple of weeks, and now am just glad I'm able to use something that doesn't make me sick.

Overall, I like this product. It's hard to find a soy protein in as big of a size as this comes in, and that packs 25g of protein per serving. After hard weight workouts I think it's had a comparable effect as the whey protein in making my recovery time shorter too. Some negatives: taste most definitely, and for me personally, the 330mg of sodium per serving.

Good protein alternative for someone looking for something non-dairy though.

Ignore the naysayers. Ive tried the rest, this is the best. For the first time in ages, my wife and i are losing weight. Its all because of the tasty shakes my wife makes with THIS soy protein powder. This is first-class stuff. Buy it and try it before you make your decision. Every other protein powder ive tried tastes worse than this one AND did not deliver the protein "ummff" i was looking for and needing. but im getting it with the Optimum stuff!

Oh, flavor-wise, the vanilla is surprisingly good. But the chocolate is like going to an ice cream parlor -- out of this world. if youre on a diet, then you know how important good tasting dessert-substitutes are. well this product has met and exceeded our expectations, and we are OFF the junk food! yeah!

Taste great, vegan friendly, and provides the additional protein required for strict diets. Great stuff for the interested individuals switching to a healthier veg diet.

I typically use whey protein since it's relatively cheap and does what I need it to do, but I like to mix things simply for varieties sake. My only previous experience with soy protein was Twinlab VegeFuel - I got it on sale, tried it, hated the way it tasted, and let it sit for a very long time. I ended up blending it with whey protein and found it to be palatable, especially when used to cut the really strong flavors of certain brands of whey protein.

When I ran out, I decided to give another brand of soy protein a try. I ended up getting ON Vanilla Bean on sale and have to say that this is VASTLY superior is taste to VegeFuel. I no longer bother to blend it and can mix it on its own and enjoy it just fine. The blend isn't overwhelmingly sweet and goes down great. It's very slightly gritty compared to most whey protein, but it's not at all unpleasant. In a pinch, when I've run out of milk, I've mixed this with water and used it as a substitute in my morning cereal. It doesn't taste the same, but it's better than the powdered milk my mom used to use when we were kids!

If you're stuck on whey protein and have been reluctant to try soy, give this a shot. it's got a good nutritional profile, tastes great, and goes down easy.

No matter where I read about protein supplements, there's always someone telling me, "Whey protein won't make your lactose intolerance issue flare up! It doesn't have the substances that make the issue appear." Well, that's *wrong*

Whey was letting me make the gains I wanted, but also several I didn't want - namely making me make a stink at an alarming rate of frequency.

This product claims it has soy AND milk products, but no milk items are labeled in the ingredient list - and I don't have any more digestive issues now, either.

PROS:
-Decent taste
-Decent texture
-Lower Calorie that other brands
-Lots of complete protein per serving
-Minimal digestive problems (may have to sample to product if you have a flat out dairy allergy, don't know, sorry)

CONS:
-Little pricey for the size
-Container Sizes (even in a '2 pack') is pretty limiting

As a disclaimer, I've previously only used Genisoy soy protein so I'm basing this review off that. In anycase, when my Genisoy powder was running low I thought I'd try a new company and Optimum 100% seemed to get decent reviews.

My morning shake consists usually of 4 cubes of ice, 1/2 cup of sugarless soymilk, 1/2 cup water, and half a banana. It worked fine for the Genisoy protein powder--just the right amount of sweetness-- but somehow with 100% Soy Protein it came out sickeningly sweet. Over the course of a few weeks I eventually got used to the taste, and tried incorporating it into cereal or oatmeal as well.

On the plus side, it blends in a blender very well and has a creamy texture, unlike the Genisoy which was much grainier. I'd probably buy this product again.

...i was using GNC cookies n cream and my face kept breaking out so i needed a non dairy option. the cookies n cream was amazing...best flavor ever...this vanilla bean soy protein isn't a close second, but i like the taste a lot. (i;ve been taking protein shakes for 10 years so i'm used to their flavor and have had the worst of the worst...maybe i have lower expectations because of that)....at any rate..this is a simple flavor...doesn't try to be fancy, but just good enough to actually crave a shake and want to drink it... I take it on the weekends when i don't lift and I keep a good pump just like with GNC products so I'm completely satisfied. non dairy...good flavor....keeps me pumped...cheaper....i'll be buying this from now on....thanks...
