Have been using this for quite some time. My husband had cancer and went through chemo & radiation extensively! He wasn't able to eat and lost 65 lbs. we were able to put this product trough his feeding tube to help keep his strength up....needless to say, very pleased!

I've just finished my 3rd bag (Over about 3 months) and went from 205 -> 220. Was hoping to end up around 235 but I'm married so I never get what I want.

I bought this for my 17 year old son after his Doctor said he was extremely under weight. (5' 6" 110 lbs) He has been taking it now for about 12 weeks and is seeing great results. I make him a shake every night after his workouts (1 scoop of powder with 12 oz. of non fat milk and I add 1/2 a cup of peanut butter to his shake. He is currently at about 135 lbs and he feels amazing. I highly recommend this product to anybody with a busy schedule having a hard time consuming enough calories. here is a before and after picture.

I just finished taking the whole bag. If you are thinking about buying it, here is my two cents:

1) Its scoop size is enormous (a giant baker's cup or 8.45 oz/250 ml plus). I've uploaded a picture of it against a generic protein powder scoop (1.8 oz/70 ml). With two recommended giant scoops per serving we are talking about tons of calories here.

I only use half a scoop at a time mixed with half of a generic scoop of soy or whey protein to prevent fat gain, but still get a good amount of protein and some needed calories without bloating my stomach. I consume about 6 mixes a day.

2) If you are also taking multi/vitamins/minerals/enzymes like Animal Pak while heavily training, be mindful that this weight gainer has some too. Do not overload your liver. What I do is take only one pack a day of Animal Pak against the recommended two.

Bought the 3lb size to test it out. Was a little taken back by the scoop size but I found that taking 1 scoop twice a day once in the morning and once at night is manageable. Put on 4 lbs and just finished the container, works really well for me compared to other products, will be ordering a larger size.

Anyone who is seriously into weight training and looking to get size and muscle you should really look somewhere else and let me explain why.
There are many other products on Amazon that have fantastic amounts of protein in them, however you may be concerned because the calories can be very low and you're looking for an effective weight gainer.

Consider this:
A popular protein powder on Amazon has a serving size of 1 scoop at 24g of protein. 1 serving size weighs 30grams. Thats a pretty small little scoop.
In contrast, Serious Mass has a serving size of 2 scoops that are 334 GRAMS in weight for 50g of protein.
To put this into perspective:
One shake will give you 50g of protein with two very small scoops, say close to 1/4 cup.
The other will also give you 50g of protein but imagine scooping it out of the bag with a snow shovel. You will literally have over 2 CUPS of powder in a shake. Im talking like dumping a bag of flour into your blender and then adding some water to it.
I have never ever seen serving size that was THIS big. Its HILARIOUSLY huge.
Remember, this bag is 12 LBS and it only has 16 servings. It wont even last you the entire month. THAT is how big the serving sizes are.
If you did the equivalent serving size of another high quality protein shake you'd probably be looking at 200grams of protein.

If you want a weight gainer this is what you do:
Purchase a high quality protein shake on Amazon. One of the more popular ones I was referring to.
2 scoops will yield 50 grams of protein.
Add milk, peanut butter, a banana and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you instantly have a FAR SUPERIOR protein weight gainer that will taste incredible.

Trust me on this.

This protein not only works, it tastes great. I gained 20 lbs over a 2 month period and when I stopped taking it because I ran out, I stayed at the same weight. I am about to purchase my second bag of it so I can meet my goal!

There are a few things to be aware of. First, the bag zipper broke almost immediately the first time I used it. I would fold the top and clip it shut to keep it fresh. Secondly, like most people are saying here - the scoops are GIGANTIC and they recommend doing 2 scoops. A lot of people will recommend just doing 1 scoop but I did 2 and it worked well. It was definitely hard getting it down, especially when I blend it with PB, greek yogurt, oats, and a banana. It becomes cumbersome when you want it to go - or you want to get it down quickly. I would have to fill two very large cups with it.

Another con is that because it is SO much at a time, it can be very hard to blend unless you have a large blender that works well. I use a Vitamix and it doesn't even handle it by itself, I have to jam it down or stir it. A great way to make it is by filling your blender with LOTS of ice and then fill it with milk to the 32 oz. mark. Then I blend it, scooping the sides because the protein sticks to the sides, and then let it blend for a while until it is almost foamy. It tastes just like a chocolate milkshake!

One huge plus is that considering how much you are taking in, I actually did not have very bad poop. Right now I'm using another protein that is half the size, and having terrible gas and needing to poop immediately after taking it. For this one, I didn't have those effects. Also - this product does not contain sucralose, which is a common sweetener in protein powders.

The Good: Works great, even for me (see below).

The Bad: Doesn't mix so great by hand, but not a big deal if you've got a blender.

The Iffy: the flavor is a little... Eh, it's not bad, but it's oppressive. Blend it with milk, a banana, and a spoonful of peanut butter to tone the artificial strawberry flavor down.

Personal Experience:

Ever since I was a little kid I have made scarecrows look obese. I am 5'11, and could never break over 110lbs. I have tried eating over 4,000 calories per day, but I gained no weight. My metabolism is very strange, to say the least. I don't store fat the way most people can, and I actually lose weight if I don't get enough protein and exercise enough.

With just my regular diet, 1 1/2 servings of Serious Mass per day, and moderate exercise, I have gained 8lbs in 9 days (and it's not just going to my waist). This stuff is a bit lower on protein per calorie than other brands, so it's more of a real weight gain supplement than other protein supplements which makes it perfect for me since my diet is already higher in protein.

With the size scoop this weight gainer comes with and the amount of calories per serving.
