I recently purchased this item under the impression -and as it had been presented on Amazon.com- that it was a 'fully wet-or-dry' shaver. Much to my dismay and disgust I found that after opening the package (which, by the way, had to be COMPLETELY I REPEAT COMPLETELY cut apart thus nullifying the possibility of the item being returned because Amazon.com states that for it to be returned it must be in an UNOPENED AND OROGINAL condition) that the instruction sheet clearly stated it was NOT intended for use in the shower/tub which therefore makes it not a truly "wet-or-dry" shaver but simply one that can be Rinsed under running water to clean the cutting head.
Where do I go to remedy this bit of misrepresentation? How about spending a couple hundred dollars on a quality item that is just exactly as advertised! Go out and spend the money I had hoped to save by purchasing this misrepresented item and buy a Panasonic wet/dry shaver that is INTENDED TO BE USED IN THE TUB OR SHOWER AS WELL AS A DRY SHAVER.
I did charge this item (which took overnight where the Panasonic takes a couple hours) and tried shaving with it. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My normal shave time is about ten minutes even going up to fifteen minutes if I missed a day or two. I had shaved with a BLADE and lather getting a bit closer shave the day before so I should just whiz through a shave. HAH! Twenty minutes and still shaving with the Optimus. Not cutting cleanly but snagging and pulling as I shaved. My beard is not tough nor extremely heavy. Just a 'normal' beard. The Optimus struggled to cut and spent most of the shave instead pulling hairs out. What a waste of perfectly good money. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Over fifteen years ago I purchased a Panasonic wet/dry shaver and have been very pleased with it. It is getting on in years and probably will need to be replaced in the future. That is what I was looking to do when I made the mistake and purchased a 'cheap cheap cheap' piece if junk. I will spend my hard earned money with what I know to be a quality company that has proven itself to be quality.....Panasonic.....You might pay a little more but they are just exactly what they advertise. Quality is engineered into the products they sell and quality is where it all comes to, if it ain't quality it's just so much junk!!!

My shaver works ok. it is water proof, And has a battery life that is about a hour long. it does not get a very close shave nor is it comfortable. but for a shaver to keep in a car for when you can't shave otherwise it is fine. The nose trimmer does work very well. it tickles though.
