i purchased a dozen of these fans for our elderly care facility. in 4 months, 5 fans have stopped working. being an electrician, i took them apart to see if there was a short. i learned that the problem is in the motor due to cheap parts and labor. i do not recommend buying optimus oscillating table fans.

Very quiet on low which still pushes a lot of air. Have had it running 16 hours a day for a couple of months. Easy to clean by fan standards. You will need to clean it as it is white white.

This fan works great at keeping our bedroom cool. It is quiet and works without any problems. Perfect price too.

As noted by another reviewer, this fan can have problems with overheating. Mine was purchased less than two months ago and was recently noted to be extremely hot and have the unmistakeable smell of burning electrical elements. This fan is going in the trash!!

Yes I was pleased with the fan until the six day.The item lasted six days before it stopped working. I wil save the boxes next time so I can return future items. Not worth the shipping cost to return. I'll trash it and go to walmark and pick-up another one. Don't buy this junk.

I expected the fan to work as the other reviewers noted, but the fan I got didn't. The fan would get stuck and not move, heating up the little engine. I say stick with the tower fans.

Great little fan and great price! It's very quiet and really puts out a lot of air!

I bought this fan December of 2009. It has been used nightly pretty much _every_ day since I received it. It's a lightly built fan, hardly a metal component in it other than the motor and grill. Ours is kept in one place and never gets moved. It's been wonderfully quiet and has been easily cleaned every few months.

This is not a 24/7 (continuous duty) fan and will not stand up to such use.

Fans such as these have a polypropylene film capacitor to help with motor operation and this item commonly fails from operating for too long of periods.

With more typical 12/7 use it should work out well and last for several years.

I purchased two of these fans and both smelled like the motors were burning. One kept getting stuck when it circulated to the left and would make a constant clicking sound and produce sparks. Both of them arrived with marks on the housing a sign they were either previously used (which I doubt given it's Amazon) or the manufacturing process is very sloppy. I would not recommend these to anyone unless you want a fire hazard. After one of them starting showing little sparks in the housing I decided to trash both of them.

I bought this fan in June, 2010, when I purchased two other fans (each a different brand). The Optimus was the quietest of the three I purchased. It was not used every day. After a month, I noticed it was sluggish when we turned it on.

Last week, I noticed oil around the base. Apparently all the oil in the motor has leaked out. The fan always sat on a level, horizontal surface. Today it won't turn on, at all. It is dead. I did not keep the shipping boxes due to storage space constraints. I recommend you avoid this product. We are very disappointed in this product.
