4.0 out of 5 stars The product itself is not bad. Hope AT&T will improve 3G connection anywhere in the States. .
The product works fine on Vista and the connection manager software (at&t communication manager) does not interfere with other software. Connection to the network is relatively smooth compared to CDMA (= Sprint).
However, I would like to see much more improvements regarding to the depth of 3G coverage of AT&T. As I did trials of Sprint, I have to say that the depth...

3.0 out of 5 stars a decent deal
After an initial glitch between Amazon and AT&T this ended up being a better deal than I could have received going directly through AT&T for my phone upgrade. It was definitely a bit of a pain getting an initial rejection worked out, but in the end I got a phone for 1 cent that AT&T would have charged me over $100 for. Amazon seemed clueless as to the initial rejection of...

This review is from: Option GT 7.2 Ultra Express Card (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
The product works fine on Vista and the connection manager software (at&t communication manager) does not interfere with other software. Connection to the network is relatively smooth compared to CDMA (= Sprint).
However, I would like to see much more improvements regarding to the depth of 3G coverage of AT&T. As I did trials of Sprint, I have to say that the depth of coverage of 3G by At&T is not better than Sprint at present. They do cover the area they disclosed on their web site, but probably the no of base stations are relatively limited and the reception is very light in many areas although the weak 3G signal CAN be received. Economic situation is no good and the network investment can be easily reduced under the current condition, but we need to see stronger reception of 3G to justify the expensive monthly charge. Otherwise, the current EDGE network seems to be providing very similar network speed and capability. There is no strong economic reason to buy and pay expensive monthly fees for 3G service.

2.0 out of 5 stars A heavy phone with poor battery., December 27, 2008
By

This phone is easy to use. However, the battery runs out so quickly that I have to recharge it every 3 or 4 days even I talked only half hour per day. Another issue I found is the clock alarm. Once you set it, it will alarm every day unless you delete it manually. BTW. This phone is heavy.

4.0 out of 5 stars OK Phone, December 14, 2008
This phone has some great features and easy to use. It is, however, rather large compared to other phones. It is a bit bulky and heavy. I didn't check out the phone at an ATT store, I wish I had because I would have chosen something smaller and lighter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motorala Z9 cell phone, November 16, 2008

I loved this cell phone. I had a Rarz V3 before and this phone has a lot more features and works great with the bluetooth I purchased. I'm still learning new things about this phone everyday, but I know the navigation feature is great. I would recommend this cell phone.

3.0 out of 5 stars a decent deal, November 16, 2008

After an initial glitch between Amazon and AT&T this ended up being a better deal than I could have received going directly through AT&T for my phone upgrade. It was definitely a bit of a pain getting an initial rejection worked out, but in the end I got a phone for 1 cent that AT&T would have charged me over $100 for. Amazon seemed clueless as to the initial rejection of my request. It appears their staff has little if any knowledge of the phone deals they offer on their website. That was a disappointment, as I've never had a problem with any other order I've placed through Amazon in the past. AT&T, however, was extremely helpful. Much to my surprise! I hereby give a cautious warning to anyone placing an upgrade phone offer from AT&T through Amazon. You're likely to go through a bit of a hassel to obtain the deal offered on Amazon's website. A bit of persistence, however will hopefully result in a positive outcome, as it did in my case. To reiterate, my positive outcome can be attributed to AT&T, not to Amazon. I don't want to put down Amazon, as I've had nothing but positive experiences with them in the past. In this case however, Amazon was sorely lacking. AT&T on the other hand, was extremely accommodating!

4.0 out of 5 stars A quality cell phone, August 30, 2008

I purchased (2) Motorola Z9 Cell phones on 7/30/08. I have been using cell phones for many years, and the Z9 is far and away the best. It is a little heavier than some other slider phones, but that is because of the design and build quality of the phone. It just feels and looks great. The LCD display is perfect for pictures. The Z9 has 3G Internet, and GPS capability, available for extra monthly cost from AT&T. I had two disappointments with the Z9. To listen to MP3 music, bluetooth head phones are required that are costly. Secondly, one of the phones has a buzzing sound. The buzzing cannot be heard when usng a bluetooth ear piece. Amazon is replacing this phone free of charge, and has made the exchange very convenient. I would definitely make the same buy decision for the Z9.

3.0 out of 5 stars Z9 is a good phone, July 26, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have no real hard and fast complaints about the z9. It seems sturdy and is as advertised. If I have any issues they are my own fault. The screen on the z9 is too big, and by that I mean I carry my phone in my pocket and with a screen like this its going to get scratched up. I should've been smarter and stuck with the razor or some other folding phone. The other issue is even if you are willing to carry the phone on your belt or something there are no cases to speak of. There may be a generic case, but I havent seen one made for the z9. And lastly the USB is not standard and is one of those miniature ones that you will have to get adapters for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Phone, July 20, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Just received my 2 Moto Z9's. Out of the box they are really great looking phones. Call quality seems to be really good at least on the AT&T network compared with my old Razor V3 on T-Mobile. I have ordered 2 new Invisible Shield full phone protectors to help combat the keys and nails and fingerprints. I have pretty big hands and this phone is quite bigger than my V3. The Z9 fits comfortably in my hand and has a solid feel to it. The slider section is snug and does not need to be opened to make or receive calls, the volume can be a little bit louder. Easy menu buttons and easy to navigate around all the functions. Would have been nice to get a game included and there is a good variety of ringtones. Overall I would recommend this phone over most other models. It looks great and also functions great. This is one of the best sliders I have found and I have been shopping around for about 2 months for the right phone and the right price. I do want to mention that battery life seems a lot better than my V3. I just use these phones for calls and pictures that's about it, no internet or messaging.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a realistic option for mac users, July 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Option GT 7.2 Ultra Express Card (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
On top of the fact that you have to google for the connection info to type into the configuration screen, there's no native OSX drivers for this card, so you're forced to use the buggy and downright evil software from card maker Option Wireless.

Their software turns off all other connections on your mac when you connect via the card, presumably to prevent people from sharing their internet connection with others via WiFi.

There doesn't appear to be a way to make the card work like any other modem, and due to the way the software works currently (it's doing some weird proxying, the connection appears as an ethernet adapter, not a modem) I doubt that Apple will bother to fix the mess that Option has made.

I'm returning this, and buying a verizon or sprint card.
