Option to Profit

The book provides some good ideas on how to generate an income writing Covered Call options. However, with this book, it appears that the author is laughing all of the way to the bank (p66). The humor(?) of the cartoons is a distraction and irrelevant to the subject.
Neither of his websites are now available for downloading the spreadsheets necessary to implement his strategy. The websites are now focused on marketing the book and neglecting those of us who purchased it!
Despite his statement in Chapter 24, "Don't ask me any more questions.".. where's the meat?

Great for new traders

I have never played around in the market before and wasn't looking to dive in blind. I started following @theacsman on twitter and found him to be insightful and hilarious. The book did not disappoint I read it in 3 days and feel like I finally have a strategy going into the market. I think this book would be beneficial to anybody looking to make some money who also has a good sense of humor. Highly recommended.

Limited upside, few downside protections

Loved the conversational writing style. Easy to read and humorous too! Trading system is good as it is outlined - unfortunately, there are few automatic down-side protections built into the system - requiring constant monitoring. This is not a system for people that want to place a few orders and forget about them. That said, I think the author is absolutely right about many factors - including the only constant in the stock market is change (fluctuations) AND people are really bad at selling at market peaks.

I started with paper trades and understood how the system works before I tried my REAL MONEY(TM) actions. Having been a buy and hold investor for years with steady accumulation, the income-generating oriented system taught me not to think about my portfolio in such a static way. Best for people that can trade in a IRA or other tax deferred accounts, as if you trade the recommended 10 securities EVERY MONTH, your tax reporting will not be that fun.

Great read - good system - I recommend this book to anyone disappointed with their current market returns.

Learn and Laugh

I am a relatively novice options trader so I was afraid George Acs book might be over my head. Not so. Great, easy to follow advice from a man with a wicked sense of humor. When I go to make a trade I always look at his rules (hanging on my office wall) before I click submit. The cartoons are priceless.

Worth considering

The covered call strategy outlined looks interesting. If a 2-4% monthly return can be regularly achieved, the price of the book will be a great investment. Once the author gets beyond his history the book is worth reading if using covered calls is a new technique to the reader. And, the way the author uses covered calls, is clearly explained. Can anyone get the same results using the techniques described is unclear - it seems that some level of regular monitoring is necessary. However, I was intrigued enough that I will take a close look at using the strategy in a small IRA account.

A fun, informative, and lucrative read

This guy is a riot. A very funny book to read, full of the voice of experience. I would say if you are considering dipping your toe into covered calls, or even if you are approaching intermediate level, you would benefit from reading this book. A quick read, funny, informative. Probably worth 100 times what you pay if you put any of it into practice. I found out about the author as I read Seeking Alpha, where he is a frequent irreverent contributor.

Good Read... Do some options basic courses online first

This book is an easy read (lots of editing errors that tend to effect credibility).

I found it to be honest and is no get rich quick scheme. It gives a decent insight to covered call trading. I am a relative novice to stock/option trading and liked a lot of the information contained in this book. The editing mistakes and childlike cartoons could be corrected, but the content and writing style made for an easy read.

Entertaining and Informative
