Slim Fast Meal Options Soy Protein Shake Mix, Chocolate Delite, 18.6 Ounces

This powder basically makes a protein shake like that offered by GeniSoy, just much, much cheaper. The only major difference is that GeniSoy uses strictly non-GMO ingredients, and I assume that Slim Fast contains GMO soy and filler (if anything to keep costs down). It's somewhat of a compromise, but this is much more affordable.

True, it doesn't taste very good. But I like the fact that it is mixable with water, unlike most of Slim Fast's other products (this of course cuts down even more on calories/carbs, which in this drink are lower than Slim Fast's standard offerings to begin with). And if you think of this as more of a protein shake rather than meal replacement, it's much easier to stomach (since protein shakes always taste bad anyway). There used to be a mocha flavor that was much, much more palatable, but for some reason it has been discontinued. I find that if I use very cold water or put the powder in a blender with ice and water, it goes down a bit easier.

For the carb conscious this is a great alternative to Slim Fast's regular line-up. If you're looking for a "treat," however, you should probably look elsewhere.

I work in a small office and don't always get out for lunch. I keep a covered shaker cup in my desk & mix up a shake for a quick pick me up. Just by adding cold water from the cooler!

My teen daughter drinks this every day before school as a meal replacement. She is lactose intolerante so we mix it with water.One cup of water in the blender, two scoops and a quick blend. It comes out smooth, not too thick with a rich chocolate flavor. We have tried other soy drinks with poor results.

I tried this stuff for a while. It does exactly what it says on the tin. If you follow the instructions you will lose weight. I lost about 14 lbs in two weeks, and I was not terribly overweight.

So why not get 5 stars?

1. It's boring. The first shake is great, the second isn't bad. By the end of week 1 you are fit to slit your wrists if you see another.

2. The weight comes straight back on as soon as you stop. The instructions tell you to go on other diets, but the problem is, you learn nothing about eating on the slimfast diet.

3. It can't be good for you. I don't care what they say on the tin. It feels wrong.

So, I lost my weight permanently by learning how to eat properly on a proper balanced diet. If you want to learn how to lose weight, it's easy. Go to a doctor who will tell you this:

"no alcohol for a year, and lose 14 lbs - then come back for a test. If the test is clear I don't have to perform a liver biopsy"

That worked for me.

The secrets to losing weight:
1. No alcohol- none- ever.
2. No bread - none - not even dry granary toast.
3. All food consumed in three meals per day made from food that you prepared yourself- no snacks-none- no fast food, and steer clear of restaurants because they are full of bread and wine.
4. Leave the car - walk.
5. Drink lots of water.

It's boring, but it works better than Slimfast.
However - if you are getting married in two weeks and can't fit in your dress - Slimfast could be just what you need.
