Personal Biography
Gianni A. Sarcone is an author and an artist with more than twenty years of experience in the fields of visual creativity and educational games. He is also, with Marie-Jo Waeber, the co-founder of Archimedes' Laboratory™ Project (www.archimedes-lab.org), an interactive and entertaining site that offers puzzles, optical illusions, teacher resources, curiosities and much more (here is a quote from Scientific American - May 27, 2003: "This virtual lab borrows the empirical spirit and creative curiosity that Archimedes brought to his work and invites visitors to explore with the same expectations for mind-blowing discovery").
Expert in recreational mathematics, mind games and brain training, Gianni Sarcone is particularly involved in cognitive sciences (teaching methodology, creativity and communication) and has written numerous books on topics ranging from optical illusions to visual and critical thinking. He is contributing editor to Focus BrainTrainer (Italy), Focus Junior (Italy), and Brain Games reviews (USA).
Considered a leading authority on visual perception by academic institutions, G. Sarcone was a juror at the Third Annual "Best Visual Illusion of the Year Contest" held in Sarasota, Florida (USA). His optical illusion project 'Mask of Love' was named in the top 10 best optical illusions in the "2011 Best Illusion of the Year Contest" held in Naples, Florida (USA).
