5.0 out of 5 stars Optoma EX532 2800 Lumens 1024 x 768 Projector
I purchased this unit to be used in a classroom setting with my 10" Netbook.
The 2800 lumens works very well in a daylight environment with brilliant color images. The sound output is a little weak and needs external speakers when presenting with sound.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad quality and broken in 14 months
I purchased this unit 14 months ago to be used in a light movie room with my media center. It works very well in a daylight environment with brilliant colors.
It worked for 14 months when the first Dead Pixel appered. In 2 weeks they are now between 20 and 25 dead pixels.
I have used Infocus projectors for the last 8 years and no one had similar problem...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Low Priced DLP Projector, November 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Optoma EX532 XGA 2800 Lumen Multimedia DLP Projector (Office Product)
PROS: This projector was purchased to replace my old Proxima Projector with a burnt out bulb.
(Same cost for new projector vs. replacement bulb)
I have it ceiling mounted at 14' from screen with a 96" diagonal screen. The picture is large and bright.
The setup was very quick once you realize to use the arrow keys in the middle and not the ones on top. Use the "Auto" Setting for picture size and you'll always have the largest picture when switching from TV to DVD.
The projector has a 3k lamp life in Bright mode and 4k in Normal. Bright is great for daytime viewing, but Normal is more than enough for Night time viewing. The projector will also give you a warning when your within 30 hours of the end of the buld life. Overall Great Picture Quality and Size especially for the price.

CONS: I didn't know that you need a special adaptor when doing a Ceiling Mount. My old projector was mounted with 1 screw and the Optima projector requires a 3 Screw mounting plate adaptor. (Needs to be purchased seperately)

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressed so far!, January 8, 2010
This review is from: Optoma EX532 XGA 2800 Lumen Multimedia DLP Projector (Office Product)
Just received the Optoma EX532 today. Impressive image quality and the 2800 lumens is plenty bright enough to work in my living room with the lights on - pretty cool. Also, the projector is extremely quiet. Smaller and lighter than I expected too - pretty awesome for $550. Have no idea how it will withstand the test of time but very impressed with the projector for the 2 hrs I've played with it.

I'll contact Optoma Support to see what can be done. Warranty is 12 months and I'm 2 months beyond that.

dont recomend this product due this problem.

This projector died after one year of use - the pixels began burning out quickly after 1 year of occasional use - watching movies only avg about 15-20 hrs / week.

Not worth the money - past warranty - lost money!

Like other reviewers, our projector (which we'd loved to that point) started showing up with dead pixels after about a year and a half. It's now has hundreds, and we're in the market for a new projector. Sadly, it's not going to be an Optoma.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hundreds of dead pixels right after warranty, September 18, 2011
This review is from: Optoma EX532 XGA 2800 Lumen Multimedia DLP Projector (Office Product)
Hundreds of dead, always-stuck-on, white pixels.

Occurred soon after warranty; there were literally *HUNDREDS* of white pixels. They littered the screen, creating a galaxy of white dots which silently mock you.

DO NOT BUY OPTOMA PROJECTORS. I really would like to know the OEM LCD manufacturer as well as I could avoid them too...

The product worked well. Only gripe is the zooming adjustments depending on the laptop resolution. It would have been great if it can maximize the output window based on whatever input resolution coming in. Otherwise you'll get this weird effect of either top or side choppings.

5.0 out of 5 stars We love these projectors, November 9, 2010

If you can find a better projector for twice this price, buy it. We have purchased about 20 of these for our school and they have been great! In the past we had been paying $1500 - 2000 for a projector. That would mean we could have only done about 5 - 7 classrooms.

These projectors get the job done! They work great with PC and Mac.

I purchased this item for our church to do lyrics, movies and such. Our church is bright so we needed a projector that would work in this environment. So far this unit functions beautifully with great video and picture quality. Excellent product!
