1.0 out of 5 stars Optoma Buyer Beware, February 22, 2006
This review is from: Optoma PD-50 50'' Widescreen HD-Ready Plasma Display (Electronics)
I was excited to get this plasma only to realize when I hooked it up that the colors were totally off when viewing HD channels. No amount of tuning or calibration corrected the off colors. Big disappointment. I called Optoma customer service and was told to complete a form and submit service request online. I never received word back from the company. I called the company and they denied receiving my request (note: a copy of the same note was successfully received by my work e-mail). This time I sent the request via FAX and also re-sent via e-mail. After a reasonable wait, I had to call the company again to ask about my service request. This time, I was put on hold for 30 minutes and was told the paperwork was misfiled. To cut this short, I am going on my 4th week with a service complaint and Optoma has been non-responsive after numerous e-mails and voicemails left with at least four customer service reps and two customer supervisors ( Tom Brock and Raymond Mar). The bottom line is, the disappointment about the product is unequalled by the frustration trying to deal with its customer service, considering the product is still under warranty! I am concerned what service Optoma will provide once the product is out of warranty.
