Editorial Reviews

Opus 54 is a feature-length independent film that looks through the lens of one hand-crafted organ at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in southeastern Wisconsin to see how church organs are conceived, funded, planned, built, and delivered. The film features the work of Martin Ott, a master organ builder from St. Louis, MO. Through interviews, demonstrations, and photographs Opus 54 shares the hard work and detail that goes into making an organ, as well as the impact such an instrument has on future generations of Christian ministers and laypeople. Fans of music, worship, and art will all enjoy the story of Opus 54. The DVD includes the feature-length film, four short features, and full-length recordings of each performance from the film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awestruck October 8, 2012
By NB
When you take a documentary film that fully captures the excellence of one instrument and irresistably compels the viewer to promote that same excellence in his own congregation, and you frame it in a setting to match such content - elegantly planned, expertly crafted, visually appealing, intellectually engaging, and clean in every way - there can only be one result. You will leave people awestruck - both at God and at his gifts to humans. This documentary did no less for me. I highly recommend it.
