Great deal!,

Beautiful product for the money. I was impressed with the quality of this piece...it is ALL COPPER CONSTRUCTION, (I'm not sure what that other reviewer was referring to when he mentioned "rubber dragonflies!") This makes a very elegant addition to the garden and is VERY stable. The stake is sturdy and easy to push into even the hardest soil. Assembly was a breeze. I would buy from Opus again.

Product is easily damaged in shipping,

The rubber dragonflies are easily broken. They probably were intact when packaged, prior to export to the USA, but somewhere along the way they get damaged. They would be better off not to install the dragonflies onto the birdbath at the factory, and just package them seperately, for the customer to assemble.

This is not your typical looking birdbath. I love the way it blends so much better with my garden plantings than a heavy cast cement bath does. The plastic dragonflies were very easy to remove...and in my opinion were not a good addition to the piece. I had no problems with the paint texture or in staking it in my garden (there is a rather long and sturdy stake attached that keeps it well rooted in the ground). I was hoping that it would patina after a while, but it appears that it may take some time since it looks like there's a protective coating on it, sort of like a powder coating. But overall, it's really pretty and not too obtrusive or overbearing. It looks like it just sprouted in my garden!

Flimsy construction,

I liked the unique design of this birdbath, but was very disappointed when it arrived. The finish on the copper was uneven and bumpy. Even worse, the birdbath is constructed of extremely lightweight materials making it impossible to fill with water and not have it tip over on anything but the most level surface. I wouldn't advise this as a purchase for anyone's garden space where it is to rest on grass, soil or rocks. It would also be a poor choice for use around curious kids who could easily tip it over.

Got this for Christmas to put in my secret garden, very beautiful, can't wait for it to get a patina. Forget the plastic dragonflies, much prettier without them !!!!

attractive and functional,

Purchased this last summer and am quite pleased with it. The stake/plate anchoring system makes it very easy to install in lawn/garden and gives it good stability. Has a nice "arty" look that blends in well with naturalistic landscaping. Easy to clean; good capacity, but not too deep for the smaller birds. Good value for the money. I've gotten compliments from friends and recommended the product to them. Only downside: the bronze paint on dish interior began to peel off when the weather turned cold--have scrubbed off as much as I can so as not to poison the birds. Still quite nice looking without the paint.

Great gift!,

I bought this birdbath for my mother for her birthday. She absolutely loved the look of it. We live in the southwest and it looks so nice in a xeroscaped landscape. The stake really helped keep the bath in place during our windy spring season. I even bought another for myself.

My husband was both surprised and very pleased withn this Christmas present. The delivery was quick and timely. It came very well protected. The bird bath was easy to assemble. Family and friends have all commented on how nice it looks. Thanks for my husband and for myself. Shopping through Amazon and Opus has been a very pleasant experience.

This was a Huge disappointment,
This review is from: Opus Expeditions Copper Lilypad Birdbath (Lawn & Patio)
I ordered this bird bath and have sent it back. ... Mine arrived looking similar to the picture, but the paint was a really funky mahogany color and it had plastic dragonflies in the cat-tails of the base. I have seen this item in person elsewhere and it was really nice. I don't know what exactly what happened here, but it wasn't good.
