90% of bad breath comes from a dirty tongue!

YOUR TONGUE IS NATURALLY DIRTY

Surface of the Human Tongue
Surface of the Human Tongue

Everytime you eat, the soft crevices of your tongue collect food debris (see photo on right). Gunk and bacteria hide deep inside these crevices and are the cause of bad breath.

"Tongue bacteria...account for 80-90% of all cases of bad breath."

(Dental School of the University of Buffalo, NY)

YOUR TOOTHBRUSH IS NOT EFFECTIVE!

Tongues are like sponges soaking up bacteria. But how do you clean a tongue? Toothbrushes are meant to clean the smooth surfaces of your teeth—not your tongue. Toothbrush bristles are slightly flared and are packed together in dense bunches to sweep the hard surfaces of your teeth. Tongue scrapers just go over the top of your tongue.

Your tongue before and after cleaning with an Orabrush and tongue foam

ORABRUSH ACTUALLY WORKS!

The Orabrush Tongue Cleaner is scientifically designed for your tongue. Orabrush bristles have micro-pointed tips, ideally spaced to reach deep into the uneven crevices of your tongue where all that stinky gunk hides. These ultra-soft bristles are much more gentle than your toothbrush. At the top of your Orabrush is a built-in scraper which squeegees away all that nasty residue loosened up from brushing, leaving your tongue with a clean feeling you can taste and see.

"Orabrush is far superior to any tongue cleaner I have used."

How to Use Your Orabrush Tongue Cleaner

Moisten your tongue (using the included Orabrush Tongue Foam). Gently brush several times with your Orabrush. Reach the scraper toward the back of your tongue and remove the residue generated from brushing. (Do not press too firmly or you may damage tongue tissue). Replace your Orabrush when you replace your toothbrush.

TONGUE FOAM FOR YOUR ORABRUSH

Here is the problem: Toothpaste is, well...pasty. Its thickness clogs up the soft micro-pointed bristles on your Orabrush. However, we've designed Orabrush Tongue Foam powered with Orazyme specifically for your Orabrush and your tongue!

Yes, Orabrush Tongue Foam has a delicious mild mint flavor, but what's more, this special concentrated formula is armed with seven all-natural enzymes that build up your mouth's good bacteria in order to protect against future bad-breath attacks.

How the Concentrated Enzymes Fight Future Bad Breath

Thanks to the following seven enzymes, the more you use Orabrush Tongue Foam, the more you strengthen your mouth's natural defenses:

  • Lysozyme — a naturally occurring protein known to weaken the cell wall of certain types of bad bacteria.
  • Amylase and Amyloglucosidase - both known as “dextrinizing” enzymes, because they can break down complex foods containing sugars, helping prevent cavities.
  • Glucoxidase — a naturally occurring microbial enzyme widely used in food applications to extend the shelf life of products. It does this by reacting with the available oxygen, thus depriving aerobic bacteria of the opportunity to grow.
  • Peptizyme — one of the most potent anti-inflammatory enzymes known. It effectively controls dental infections and helps to reduce plaque.
  • Papain — a protease that is widely used to whiten teeth and to reduce plaque build-up.
  • Selectobac — a compound composed of phytic acid, sodium EDTA and lactoferrin, and an iron-binding glycoprotein present in milk and saliva. By increasing saliva levels, Selectobac also helps prevent cavities.

How to Use Orabrush Tongue Foam

Apply 1 to 2 pumps of foam directly onto your Orabrush bristles or, if you prefer, directly onto your tongue. Use Orabrush to scrub and clean your tongue. Spit out the excess tongue foam when you've completed the cleansing. Do not swallow (for best results, avoid rinsing). Orabrush Tongue Foam works most effectively when used over time. Use twice daily. There are sixty uses in each bottle (the same number of uses as an average mouth rinse bottle).

For years I have been experiencing dry breath, especially in the morning. I would often try to cover it up with either gum, mouthwash, or even food! Honestly it was quite embarressing because I was self conscious sometimes when I would be talking to someone wondering if my breath stunk! All of the dentists I went to said I have one of the cleanest teeth they had ever seen, so I couldnt figure out why my mouth still got dry and stail. About a year ago I purchased the Dr. Tungs stainless steel tounge cleaner and that worked fine, but it was sort of awkward because of the shape. When I saw this advertisement I honestly thought it was an exaggeration, but after I suffered the embarressment of my fiance handing me a piece of gum in church(After I ate and brushed my teeth) I thought what the heck I need to try something different. I received the product two days ago and I have to say it works quite amazingly. For the past two days I have had the freshest breath ever and I never thought anyone could have decent morning breath, but I still can feel the freshness of it the day before! Im not sure exactly what the foam does, but it tastes good and keeps my breath fresh. I would recommend this product to anyone who experiences dry breath.

I never thought that using a specific 'tongue cleaner' would be different to brushing my tongue with my toothbrush but it is completely different! If it hadn't been for seeing this one on facebook I would never have tried it, but I love mine. I would highly recommend this, if you tend to wretch when you brush your tongue, this doesn't seem to make me and I usually do.

I switched to the Philips Sonicare HX9332/05 DiamondClean Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush from a regular toothbrush and the way it's designed to work seems to require a separate brush for your tongue. I remember the YouTube commercials for this product so I decided to give it a try.

I've tried the spoon test they showed in their commercial and I really haven't noticed much of a difference compared to if you used a regular toothbrush and maybe an added tongue scraper. I even tried double checking to see if I was using it properly and I still didn't notice a difference. As for the tongue foam, it has a nice taste and smell but really isn't any better then the toothpaste you're using. Plus, if you brush your teeth with a scented toothpaste then use this after, what minty smell are you really trying to aim for coming from you're mouth? Mouthwash or water would work just as fine.

I rate this 3 stars because it's OK in that it serves it's purpose. 1 star is taken away because the tongue foam is completely useless compared to toothpaste, and the 2nd star is for it not exceeding my expectations in being tremendously better then a toothbrush.

UPDATE 6/25/12:
After collecting dust for some time, I decided to give the Orabrush another try but went a little more in depth as to how I used it. After brushing my teeth, I scraped as I was supposed to and got rid of as much "gunk" as I possible could. After doing this, I grabbed some Scope to rinse my mouth. Being that the Scope is green colored, it left some of the "gunk" I missed more visible. After removing the rest of it with the Orabrush again, I did feel as if there was a big improvement with my breath for the rest of the day.

I've always had a little "white tongue" or however you describe it. And, my mother used to always tell my my breath smelled like a sewer when I was little, so I gained a phobia of having bad breath. Over the years, my oral care regimine has expanded to, in order:

- Listerine pre-brush whitening mouth wash
- Brushing my teeth, tongue, and lips with Colgate whitening toothpaste and Closys toothpaste
- Floss
- Orabrush Tongue Cleaner w/ Tongue Foam
- Closys mouthwash
- Rembrant Whitening Mouthwash

I am not exactly sure which of these items is taking care of my bad breath the most (I'm an adult now, and I haven't heard any complaints for years), but I can't imagine removing any of them, and I can definitely say the Orabrush Tongue Cleaner (which I've most recently added) has made my tongue pink again. None of these other items had done that.

The tongue foam works good for geographic tongue. It won't get rid of it completely but it definitely makes a difference. You have to use it every day though and maybe even twice a day. Worth it though and not expensive plus you can get it at walmart for about 5 bucks.
