I bought this jacket for a climbing trip I took with the school I am going to, and it absolutely did it's job and more. The first night we got there the wind had picked up and it was pretty chilly, I put this jacket on and it stopped nearly all of the wind and kept me pretty warm. I eventually had to put on another layer underneath just because I was outside and inactive for so long, not to mention this jacket is not meant to be warm its meant to keep off the rain, but it did a great job keeping off the wind.

The morning before we left was nonstop drizzling and wind, this jacket kept doing its job. It kept me dry and warm while others were wet and wishing they had my jacket! I have used this jacket on just plain old rainy days while in town and on one occassion it was literally pouring down cats and dogs! The jacket beaded off all of the water and did an amazing job! I bought a softshell to wear under it and that solves my warmth issue.

The only problem I had with this jacket was that the inside has a plastic sort of feel and when it gets moist and humid outside if you dont have a long sleeve shirt under it will feel clamy and sweaty. But other than this it is a great jacket!

I've had my Oracle jacket for a little over a year now and absolutely love it. I've probably worn it 50 - 60 times and am constantly throwing it around my car trunk and house when I'm not wearing it, and it hasn't shown any signs of wear yet. My favorite features are:
* Removable hood stores easily in the collar, and when you're using it you still have a full range of peripheral vision.
* The single layer fabric doesn't have the clammy feeling others have when it's raining or you're doing something aerobic. (Note: Marmot just updated this jacket for Fall 2009 with a different material, so this comment may not be appropriate.)
* Zip pits increase breathability.
* The cut is such that you can reach overhead and the bottom doesn't ride up. I'm 5'10" and 200 lbs and unlike most other brands, I'm not swimming in fabric around the stomach to get the shoulders to fit.
* It's more waterproof than other brands proprietary technology, and water still beads up after a year.
* Super light and doesn't take up much room when you pack it.

Cons:
* I'd like velcro in a few spots by the zipper so I don't necessarily have to zip up if it's raining but I'm only going a small distance.

Overall this is a great jacket that looks like it will provide many years of stellar service.
