I also had Linda as a professor in college. I loved her classes, including the one she wrote this book for. Since then, I have worked in a DB job for 4 years, and keep this book at my desk and pull it out as a great reference. Highly recommended.

I actually had the good fortune of having the author of this book as a professor for my SQL class. She was one of the few professors I actually learned something from. I use SQL on a daily basis, and this is the book I originally learned it from.
The computer labs were already set up in such a way that we were able to dive right into this book. It is a great tool for a lab environment with a professor on had, but may not be the best choice for a individual student hoping to study on their own, in the privacy of their home.
