Brush ups are very handy and useful for kids,
By
This review is from: Oral-B Brush-ups, Textured Teeth Wipes, 12 wipes (Health and Beauty)
When I found these in the store awhile ago I picked up a package and tossed a few of the indivudal wrappers in my purse. One day my nine year old and I were at Mc Donald's at the Mall and we each used one.My son thought it was really great to see the food particles that came off his teeth, but I was impressed with the ease of use and the fact that he liked using these. I am on my fifth package at this point. The price is a bit high for only twelve, and I wish they contained more. Every day my son gets one in his backpack and he is not embarassed to use at the cafateria. The texture is not bad on the teeth, it just slides on your finger and swipe away. It even works on dentures. There is a slight mint flavor afterwards, so it is a two in one product basically with leaving a fresh scent in your mouth.

I tried these after eating a meal in a restaurant. It actually removed yellowish stains from my teeth! And it also left a pleasant minty flavor. However, I looked in the mirror later and was HORRIFIED. All the bits of chewed food had been pushed into the spaces of my teeth. It was absolutely disgusting. The Brush-Ups don't get the food bits out? Then what's the point!?! I recommend a toothpick instead of Brush-Ups. 3 stars for effort and taste.

An easy and wonderful product...,

I really like these brush ups as they are so convenient and they really freshen your breath. I keep a pack of 12 in my car and I have started to carry some in my purse also. They are a wonderful product as there are times when you eat something you don't have a tooth brush and that is too much hassle so you just go and get one of these out and throw it away; so easy! I personally love this product and think it is one of the best things to come around in a long time! Price is also not too bad for the convience you get.

If a toothbrush and toothpaste are a "10" in getting your teeth clean, these are perhaps a "6" However they have a huge advantage in being super easy to use - you could even use them while riding a bicycle! They are textured fabric sleeves that fit over your finger. Since there are no bristles, they're not going to get stuff in between your teeth as a toothpick would. However, they're good at freshening your breath and getting "just brushed" feel to your teeth. Also, they are soooo small. They come in a foil pouch and are very thin. You can keep a pair in your wallet and not even know they are there. They're expensive enough I wouldn't use them everyday (I keep a toothbrush in my desk for daily use) but there are enough scenarios I could imagine them for - Freshen your breath and mouth just before important presentations, late night after clubbing, just before a date, after a meal on the road - times when you're not likely to have brought a toothbrush and toothpaste. There's a new product out which I have also tried, - Colgate Wisp. Colgate Wisp Peppermint, 16-Count (Pack of 2) They cost about 50% more (about $0.50 instead of $0.30) but I don't think I'd recommend these based on my experience. (see my review there) They're so big you might as well get a travel toothbrush...) If you've found this review helpful, please let me know!

Works, but not well enough for the price,

I've noticed that a lot of the people who like these have children who are actually willing to use them because of the novelty. I really can't argue with that point. They do help in cleaning your teeth and freshening your breath, but I don't have children and I don't think they do nearly a good enough job for the price. It's not a bad idea in and of itself. They certainly don't take up any significant amount of space, and they aren't likely to make a mess. The promotional information says that your saliva won't seep through the material and get to your finger, and that's true. But, and I really tried to make these work for me, you don't get any more of a fresh or clean feeling from using these then you would by using a paper towel or some sugarless gum. I'd go so far to say that you get more significantly breath freshening power from gum. They're better then nothing for kids to use after a school lunch I suppose. But, compared to these, I would rather carry around a pack of sugarless gum.

Great Tooth Polishers,
By Felis libris (Marin County, CA) - See all my reviews They are also good for their intended purpose of emergency "brushing", but you really need water and privacy with them (um, excuse my lack of delicacy, you need to rinse and spit). I actually rate these 4.5, because I have a few minor complaints: 1) The mint flavoring is too strong and burns my sensitive tongue and lips a little, and 2) the individual plastic packets, while great for purse or glovebox, are a pain for daily bathroom use. I am hoarding my stash of these for special occasions, when I want to look my very best. I wish I could find them for sale again somewhere - if Amazon doesn't have them, who else would?

Great when I can't brush with a toothbrush,

My dentist gave me a sample pack of the Brush-Ups, so I took some on a plane trip the next day. I really like them! I had some snacks on the plane and really wanted to brush afterwards but couldn't - then I remembered I had these so I got a pack out and voila - my teeth felt clean for the rest of the flight. They don't take the place of brushing of course, but when I can't brush they make my mouth feel a lot better than gum or nothing would!

While this product does freshen your breath & get the overall gunk off, I have to say that unless you rinse your mouth out well beforehand you'll have gunk left in your teeth.I tried these over a 2 month period (I bought quite a few of them on sale) & I was underwhelmed. The first go-round I found little bits of gunk stuck in my teeth, which made me have to rinse my teeth out liberally afterwards & floss. After I rinsed my teeth out well beforehand, I had better results. I'd recommend these for when you want to get a bit of a fresher breath during work but haven't had a meal or anything. If you've drank some coffee & want to avoid the coffee stench afterwards, this is the thing for you. Otherwise you'd be better off just brushing & flossing as normal.

I like them okay they're just not what I expected, I was looking for them to have a different texture but I love the fact they are mint flavor and probably what I'm fixing to say might sound crazy to you but I guess it's just me but as much as I hate pickles they taste like pickles smell.
