Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Small and round for maneuverability inside the mouth, the brush head on this electric toothbrush pulsates in and out while also rapidly oscillating to scrub away plaque from between teeth and along gum lines better than ordinary toothbrushes. Two sets of extra-long bristles on the brush head's sides clean deep between teeth, and soft, rounded middle bristles do their work gently and safely without the need for firm pressing. A sensor automatically stops the high-speed pulsations if too much pressure is being applied. After two minutes, a pulsing signal indicates that you've reached the recommended brushing time, which encourages children to continue brushing until the signal. This model comes with a recharging stand that you can place on the counter or mount on the wall (mounting screws are included) and one brush head with a removable color-coded ring. After up to one year of use, Braun offers a full-refund guarantee if you're not completely satisfied. The handle carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

4.0 out of 5 stars So far I'm delighted with my purchase., August 23, 2001

This review is from: Oral-B D15511 3D Plaque Remover Toothbrush (Kitchen)
Having had some dental problems over the years and two extractions, I've been intrigued by the new advances in dental care products. Last year I bought a cheapie battery powered toothbrush and liked the feel of it even though it seemed just a little harsh. Also, it went through batteries pretty quickly so I decided, in the long run, a rechargeable might actually be more effective and economical.

I ask my dentist about the sonic toothbrushes and he said the reports were good and he wouldn't discourage me from getting one because he felt they couldn't do harm and certainly would be as good as, and probably superior to, hand brushing.

The various sonic models are quite pricey and one brand, the SonicCare has a huge handle that looked terribly uncomfortable for my undersized hands. Since I had liked the small round head on the battery operated toothbrush, this Braun, with the same type of head and a smaller handle, and a somewhat lower price than the "sonics", seemed like a good compromise.

So far, I love it. I not only brush my teeth, I brush my gums inside and out and also my tongue, top and bottom. The feeling is so good I tend to brush beyond the two minute timer. Flossing afterwards reveals miniscule debris remaining and is far less than either hand brushing or the battery toothbrush left behind.

I don't know what the following reviewer means about the replacement heads--they are a breeze to put on and take off. I'm not sure we are even reviewing the same product.

If I am ultimately disapointed in this product, I will come back to the site and relate any flaws I discover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working great, December 8, 2001

This review is from: Oral-B D15511 3D Plaque Remover Toothbrush (Kitchen)
I've had my 3D toothbrush for about one and a half or two years now and so far it has been working excellent for me. This toothbrush really cleans your teeth well and most of the time after I floss I can't get anything out- the toothbrush has done it for me! It even cleans braces really well if you get the bristles up and around the bar, which is very easy. With braces it takes about ten minutes to floss because of that annoying threader that you have to use, but luckily I don't need to do that too often because this cleans my teeth so well.

The quality is also very good. If you keep good care of it I can imagine that it'll last you for many years. I've already had mine for over a year and a half and have encountered no problems yet. A little care tip that I think you should know about: try not to get water on the toothbrush handle part and wear down your battery COMPLETELY about once every 4-6 months to keep the battery in working condition (trust me, my family never really did this on our old one and it just stopped working)

I would recommend bringing the recharger base with you if you're traveling, because after about 2 or 3 days the force of the toothbrush isn't as strong and dies down. But luckily the base isn't too big and you could fit it and the toothbrush itself in a ziploc bag (although the toothbrush would poke out of the bag a little)

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get whiter teeth and stronger gums. Also you may want to check out the Sonicare and see if that would work better for you, but this one is no slacker itself. Just take care of it and it'll give you years of great oral health. Isn't it worth 60 bucks to have a great smile?

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, November 22, 2002

My husband has serious periodontal problems! His periodontist who is the top in his feild old him to get an electronic toothbrush. We are well not rich... So I got the oral b 3d instead of the more expensive and more difficult to use brushes ie sonicare! He has had an extreme reduction in problems with his teeth and will not loose any teeth afterall BECAUSE of the great brushing power of this toothbrush! And I get a husband with ALL of his teeth!
We all use the oral-b 3d brush! Even my four year old can change the heads! Hers has barbie on it! And maybe she won't get the periodontal problems that are genetic on both sides of her family!
