The film contains a great deal of heart in fulfilling a first-time wish list in a suspense/horror/comedy. The lead actress was utilized for her buxomly attribute, but not in a way where it was gratuitous. Otherwise, a low key, low budget, low acting skill take on the psychotically obsessed stalker genre.

The story follows a voluptuous gal as she mutilates herself (and her teeth) to facilitate repeat visits with her target/dentist. As the stalking becomes more serious, danger, framed betrayal and suspense ensue. By far, the most uncomfortable moments would be in the lengthy and sometimes graphic depictions of what this gal goes through in causing herself pain. The dentist actor bedroom scene is vanilla (with another actress playing his wife) and each time the main gal disrobes they cut away as to try and focus on there being a performance by other then those two guests. The supporting acting was average to poor, the sound has both 2.0 and 5.1. The supplements include:
* A 20 minute "making-of". I have never seen one like this but I suppose I give them props for trying. They went back to the Plainfields in Jersey two years later and filmed them talking about the locations (ie: "we filmed the bar scene here two years ago - looks like it is closed now, let's film through the window to see what we can see...", "here is the dentists chair she sat in", etc.). Painful.
* Photo gallery. Admittedly one of the only DVD photo galleries where they have a slide of the bedroom scene.
* Commentary. His first major film, and I realize the heart that went into making this film that he both wrote and directed.

The lead gal is something to look at and she really does the over-the-top role adequately. Not an outright recommendation, and there is a bit of dislike out there for this film, but have no expectations and you might get some light entertainment out of it.

The cover looks to legitimate, and those awards at the bottom look promising... but beware! It's just another, barely better than handy-cam quality, homemade film production with gratuitous yet teasing nudity for absolutely no reason.

It is poorly written, poorly directed, poorly acted, and poorly filmed. Who uses that hazy dream sequence focus anymore? There should have to be warning labels on movies like this...

Oral Fixation is more than just a mouthful of dark comedy and suspense. It's a cleverly written and highly entertaining story of obsession, sex, and murder. Winner of several awards including the Grand Prize at the Francis Ford Coppola's Inaugural Screenplay Competition, it's a hidden litttle gem of independent filmmaking.

Rachel Marks is a beautiful and voluptous woman with no cavities but has other empty holes gnawing at her insides. She goes to the dentist a few times a week, and it's not just to get her teeth cleaned. Rachel is obsessed with her handsome mouth doctor. He has all the tools to help her live a life filled with big bright smiles. Except for one dilemma--he's married, with a son. Well, that problem can most likely be extracted.

This is Fatal Attraction with a little comedic dental floss. Imagine a sexy patient stripping off her shirt and kissing her dentist just as his sister-in-law assistant walks into the room. Try to explain that one Doc...

Oral Fixation is an entertaining little thriller with the proper dose of comedy and suspense. A great change of pace flick.
