Firsthand memories of Lincoln,
By Richard Lawrence Miller, Lincoln author (Kansas City MO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: An Oral History of Abraham Lincoln: John G. Nicolay's Interviews and Essays (Paperback)
An invaluable collection of recollections by persons who knew Lincoln before and during the presidency. The stories were recorded in interviews conducted by John Nicolay, one of Lincoln's White House secretaries. This book will probably be enjoyed more by specialists than by general readers. Five-star rating is based on book's usefulness to researchers.
