5.0 out of 5 stars 15th TRACK!
Like many others, I bought this CD because of The Offspring & Foo Fighters, but this CD has a lot of great songs. Some of my favorite tracks include: 12 Rods' "Glad That It's Over", Bad Ronald's "1st Time" and Phantom Planet's "California". I have written this review to let everyone know about the unlisted 15th track. Just so eveyone...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack! but missing the best song...
I LOVE this soundtrack, especially shadow stabbing by Cake, that's one of my favorite songs and the movie was HILARIOUS! but there's one song that's missing from the soundtrack- it IS my favorite song, the middle by Jimmy Eat World, that was playing when shaun came back from stanford in the truck and arlo and chad (his friends) were sitting in the car, it was playing in...

5.0 out of 5 stars 15th TRACK!, January 25, 2002

I have written this review to let everyone know about the unlisted 15th track. Just so eveyone knows. it is NOT a hidden track. The song is called "Hello". It is performed by a band called SUGARBOMB. I know this because I stayed during the closing credits of the Orange County movie with my note pad and pen in hand. Just thought everyone would be interested.

4.0 out of 5 stars some great, some good, and some....., December 19, 2001
This review is from: Orange County (Audio CD)
the soundtrack in general is good. It has great tunes and it has some others that with 1 listen it's enough.
This is mostly a rock album,, but it also includes some good slow tunes by pete yorn (a great one), creeper lagoon, and cake (another great one)

The rock songs are great, especially lit's "everything's cool", social distorsion's, foo figthers' and the bad ronald (not rock)...

I haven't heard the bonus cd completely, but it sounds good...

If you like the offspring's "defy you" and foo figthers' "the one", maybe you'll like the whole cd...

The title of track 15 is "Hello" and it is by Sugarbomb. It is definitely the best song on the CD and simply in general, although I do love the entire CD. Buy it if you haven't already, and for everyone else who was confused about the title of the hidden track, spread the word! Ciao*

So you know, the Bonus track is actually a song called "Hello" by Sugarbomb-an awesome band from Ft. Worth, Texas. I hope you'll check out their other songs now that you know who they are!

5.0 out of 5 stars Orange + Cake = sweet music, great taste, December 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Orange County (Audio CD)
Soundtracks are a great way to stumble across cools songs you wouldn't otherwise hear. In "Orange County," Exhibit A is the Cake song. Most people know their hit "The Distance," or their recent single "Short Skirt Long Jacket" - both delivered in Cake's signature speaking/chanting style. "Orange County" scores big by including "Shadow Stabbing," in which Cake shows off very appealing vocal chops, wrapped around a tune that's just damn catchy, with lyrics that are fresh and intriguing. "Adjectives on the typewriter / He moves his words like a prizefighter / The frenzied pace of the mind inside the cell." How cool is that? Going by radio play you'd never know Cake had this other dimension. So - whether you're buying it for the excellent Foo Fighters and Offspring tunes, or the suprises like "Shadow Stabbing," this is one soundtrack that gives you your money's worth.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great compilation...., January 4, 2002

I bought this CD for the Offspring, Cake and Foo Fighter tracks, and was surprised by most of the other stuff. The Offspring return to the style that made them famous, pumping out the power chords. The Foos track "The One' has a catchy chorus, and is a certain hit. The rest is a mix up of older stuff (Crazy Town), and new songs from artists like Bad Ronald, Cake and and Lit. One of the best songs on the album comes from the Icelandic hip-hop/punk band Quarashi, with "Stick `em Up." This CD hasn't left my player since I bought it, and is a sure hit for anyone who likes a good variety in their music.

this cd is very good. foo fighters, cake, lit and 12 rods combine with social distortion and brian wilsons acoustic rythym and pete yorn guitar talent to make an extremely awesome cd i have had this cd for over a year and it doesnt get old. phantom planet adds an extremely powerful song along with the offspring amd creeper lagoon. Bad ronald also has a song following crazytowns "butterfly", a pop hit, to make a cd that you will never be bored with

5.0 out of 5 stars The music of Orange County, July 29, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Orange County (Audio CD)
The music for the Orange County soundtrack is in effect a sampling of new and fairly new southern California groups who are emblematic of their region. The exception is Brian Wilson, but he is certainly the one person whose music defines southern California. In any case, Orange County is a great introduction to a number of new groups.
I would, however, like to know who sings the Orange County theme song, which is song number 15 and not credited.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Thumbs Up For Orange County!, February 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Orange County (Audio CD)
I loved the Orange County CD. Every track was a keeper, and made me want to get up and sing and dance along with every song. The bonus CD was a definite plus, and it allowed me to hear bands I would have never even checked out otherwise. It's perfect for in the car, while doing work, for waking you up in the morning, everything!
