Product Description

Orange Amps' Signature #4 Jim Root Terror tube guitar amp head is a little beast. Orange packed the sound of Slipknot guitarist Jim Root's Rockerverb 100 amp dirty channel into a lunch-box-sized chassis. The result is a tiny 15-watt all-tube amp that can take your sound way beyond high-gain rock and metal. Whether you're playing vintage rock, blues, or fusion - or anything else - the Jim Root Terror's full 3-band EQ makes short work of crafting your signature sound. there's also a tube-driven FX loop onboard, so you can take your tone in any direction you want. And the handy inclusion of a 7W switch makes the Orange Jim Root Terror head a stunningly versatile little amp.

I love it! I I have it paired with my 66 fender bassman 2x12 cab and it sounds big. Great tone. I run my 64 duo sonic with single coils and it has awesome sustain. It really does make it sing. I have been playing off and on since the 80s and have not heard an amp that has a distortion as good as this one. Does do an alright clean tone but that's not really what this amp is for. I will be running an a/b box so I can switch back and forth from my bassman to the JR TT. I bought this amp for recording and have not laid any tracks yet and it does have a bit of noise but that is to be expected with any high gain amp. Overall this thing really does rock. If you like a nasty sustaining distortion this amp is for you and it will not disappoint.

I love this amp. I've owned the Dark Terror, and the gain on the Jim Root is a lot tighter and focused. The gain on this amp are not harsh, but musical and yet it has a lot of bite. If you boost it with an overdrive, and can get a good metalcore tone. This amp works very well EMG 81s and 85s. The pinch harmonics are easy with this amp. Unlike the Dark Terror, you can dime the gain without it getting too hairy. I think this is the best sounding lunchbox amp. If you play hard rock or metal, get it!

A whole lot of ooomph in a tidy package. Amazing what this 15/7 can do. Hooked it w/Randall 1x12 Diavlo, a Donegal Diamond Shecter for metal/grunge, and a Custom Shop Strat for rock, blues, etc. This amp does not disappoint. Money well spent.

A great high gain amp that can handle low frequencies and the notes still sound crystal clear. A great amp for covering slipknot and korn songs and and for writing nu metal songs. This thing is great for heavy, chugging riffs. If you cut out the midrange, it is a rhythm amp. If you increase the midrange, it is a shreading amp. The distorted sound is incredibly loud for 15 watts, but the clean sound is quiet. When using this amp make sure to use a guitar with humbucker pick ups. Single coil pick ups don't deliver the metal sound no matter the amp and this is a METAL amp. You may need to use a noise gate with this amp when you crank up the volume. You don't need to use any effects to sound good with this amp. I would rate this amp a 10 out of 10.

Great tone, both clean and dirty.

I was worried it wouldn't be loud enough to give me the punch I wanted, but it delivers.
The controls are simple, and allows you to shape your tone.
The fx loop is awesome, in fact I have most my pedals running through it.

All around great amp!
