Swing this with plane corrections and you will feel the whole thing getting out of control - you can only swing this on a correct plane.

I've tried quite a lot of different ideas and tools to help you swing, but this one is the best, in my opinion. The shaft is super bendy and prevents you from using loads of hand action or strength. The big thing this will do is correct your transition and your plane. Swing this with plane corrections and you will feel the whole thing getting out of control - you can only swing this on a correct plane. Try to rip it from the top and the orange ball will probably hit you in the back! The Orange Whip is great at developing a steady accelarating swing that has real power at impact from your body rather than shoulders, or arms and hands.

There are many YouTube videos showing how to use it. But the key is that the ball transcribes a 'circle' - you should end with the ball looking like it would continue to go round the same path if you could keep it circling and not come to the end of the followthrough.

My other two swing aids? Go to the gym. Take Lessons from a top teacher.

I worked a Champions tournament this summer and noticed 5-6 of the guys had the orange whip in their bag. It has been the best aid I've ever run across for warming up, stretching, and cementing good swing mechanics--from the feet up.

This thing is the best. If you didn't need the proper swing mechanics to start, this thing would put golf instructors completely out of business. I've been playing pretty seriously for 20 years. I've taken my handicap down to 3 at one point during college so I am pretty familiar with the progressions of a golf swing. I was a 8 handicap when I bough the orange whip and after one session of use I was hitting the ball better than I did when I was playing my best golf 10 years ago. I am convinced If I would have had this piece of equipment back then I would be a professional today. Yes the whip teaches you to keep the club on the correct plane and yes it promotes the proper techniques for a balanced swing but what other reviews have failed to mention is the lag that all professionals and only the best amateurs attain. I would bet most of you have never even seen the principle I am talking about in person at your local course. Buy this trainer and study the golf swing the way the pro's use it. You can do it and there's no doubt you will be hitting the ball 10-20 yd's further, straighter with more constancy than ever before.

Product is a great warm-up tool, but I've not found it useful at all as a training aid (which it is marketed for). If you're looking for a warm-up tool, and want to spend $80 to $125, go for it, but knowing what I know now I'd save my money and look for other means.

The Orange Whip is a heavy club. It has the potential to strengthen and stretch the golf muscles and increase distance. It also has the potential to injure, i.e. shoulders, back, elbow. Go easy with this. Stretch. I speak from experience.

With just a few swings it helped me to time my swing and extend my shoulder turn. I am hitting the ball more solidly and my timing is better on all my shots

I would have liked it to come with the instructional DVD which would have been included if I had ordered from their website. No difference in price.

It is what it says it is, a whippy shaft with a weighted ball. That's it, though, so don't expect miracles. I helps me with establishing more lag in my swing because you have to wait for the whip. Also helps develop "golf muscles", I would think. Seems high priced for what you get, though. A weight ring slid down a driver would be about the same thing.
