The Gorilla of Juicers,
By
This review is from: Orange-X Large-Size Commercial Juicer, Blue (Kitchen)
This is the only lever-operated juicer that I have not been able to break up, and I have used most of them. There are no gears to break or strip, no white, base metal to crack. It's all solid stainless steel or heavy cast iron. Through a unique lever design, the force exerted on the orange at the end of the stroke is enormous. For a large orange, it will take a little muscle to complete the squeeze. For a medium, standard size orange, the force needed to complete the task is unbelievably small. I highly recommend it for professionals or those who want their fresh-squeezed OJ every morning.

Best juicer,
By A Customer
This review is from: Olympus Extra Large Commercial Juice Press, White (Kitchen)
The OrangeX squeezes the highest quality juice, with the least effort, of any manual or motorized juicer in my experience. It is heavy and tall, both of which pose storage issues. The largest size is nevertheless worth the trouble and expense, for the ability to handle large fruit such as grapefruits.Cleanup is easy enough to encourage a several-times-a-day squeeze-as-you-drink usage pattern, ensuring the freshest possible flavor. On the other hand, squeezing a gallon for a friend to take away only takes minutes. A side-by-side comparison of the lever motion with competing brands suggests an evolutionary advance. This is an irresistable machine for those who see beauty in engineering. By design, it squeezes about 95% of the potential juice of a typical orange, to avoid introducing bitter rind oils. (This percentage, and the resulting flavor improvement, can be verified by experiment.) Compared with electric juicers, very little pulp ends up in the juice. With the best citrus of the season, the results can be spectacular. The "squeeze tolerance" is not adjustable, except by an aftermarket tweak: A rubber gasket, like used on Mason jars, can be layered as a shim into the assembly to substitute for any missing thickness in the skin of a small or thin-skinned citrus, such as Key limes. This is worth doing, once one gets over any resentment at having to modify the design. Competing models make no provision for a citrus carcass sticking to juicer parts and lifting them out with the next lever up-swing. There is a bit of "lock and key" design to the OrangeX juicer parts, intended to prevent this. However, the workmanship on this feature is sloppy, and this feature can only be enabled with finess.

All you will ever need for OJ,
By Ed Lewis (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Orange-X Large-Size Commercial Juicer, Blue (Kitchen)
If you've ever wanted fresh OJ in your house, this is the only way to go. Yes, this is the costliest option, but as soon as you get it, you'll understand where the money went. First of all, it's a solidly built device. You could even squeeze orange juice the old fashioned way with it, by slamming the whole thing down on the fruit and collecting the juice. This is, of course, assuming that our ancestors crushed fruit with rocks.With the huge lever, squeezing the juice is a no brainer. Cut the fruit in half, balance it on the bottom piece, and push on down. Pull it up, throw away the remains, and get another one. We had a party where we squeezed over 60 lbs. of oranges and everyone was dying to have a go at it. One woman had to be pried away in order to give someone else a chance. The best part about this squeezer is that there are only two pieces to wash and they pop out easily. As for the rest, just wipe it with a wet paper towel and you're done. I hated using the other electric juicers because it was such a pain to clean. You also had to worry about the engine wearing out. Here, that's no problem. As long as you can move your arm, it'll work. If you like to buy things that'll last and that you'll actually use, go for this one. Months later, it's still a conversation piece in our kitchen, amazing friends with how cool it is. 2115|R3JRL341CXTIDK;2115|R3317V2S8M3L80;2115|RH8ULB3JNWH7F;
