5.0 out of 5 stars Good selections
This collection has been around for a while and remains an excellent choice for both singer and pianist. The selections are well chosen and the music clear and easy to read. As always, when new, this book offers up a monumental battle to keep it open while playing - a tough spine I suppose.

3.0 out of 5 stars Oratorio Anthology, soprano
Great price on this anthology. HOWEVER, this needs to be marketed in a spiral binding format for us keyboard players. Had to play with one hand holding the book open -- not very practical.

Love this book!

I completely agree with the two reviews below about the book being difficult to hold open. However, you could easily break the binding the put it in a binder yourself, or copy it and have it as sheets.

This anthology has wonderful pieces for alto soloists, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for alto solo pieces!

This book contains many great mezzo oratorio arias such as Erbarme Dich from the St. Matthew Passion or Bereite dich, Zion from Bach's Christmas Oratorio. However, the binding is a pain to fold back, especially for a pianist. However, this is a great addtion to any classical singer's library nontheless.
