I dont know what these ladys are talking about! You could do this with your child you know. The assembly of the cardboard took maybe twenty minutes. My daughter is six and was so thrilled with this art project! For $[...] it kept us intrigued for hours. We spent quality time together and the excitement in finishing it was well worth it. Sit down with your child and do this, it is beautiful once finished. She put it on a shelf and was so proud!!!!! Very easy, just alittle time. All toys fall apart eventually, comes with little cardboard people and horses. Highly recommend!!! Looking for something like it.

My 8 year old daughter received this as a gift. It contains about 30 pieces of cardboard that need to be punched out, folded in various places then carefully assembled with cardboard fold over tabs that are inserted into slots.
I cannot imagine any child under the age of 12 with the patience, dexterity and interest level to pursue the initial assembly portion of this project. Note that the packaging says this is for ages 6+. It took me, an adult, over an hour to assemble the cardboard pieces of the castle. The directions are only in pictures and are far from detailed. Once assembled, the structure is rather precarious and pieces (particularly the rooftops) seem to easily become detached. That said, once the cardboard structure was assembled, my 8 year old did enjoy putting on the many mosaic stickers. I can't imagine this is a toy that will hold up much longer than a few weeks unless it is put away on a shelf. After the decorating portion, there is not much play value as it can be frustrating to find the walls coming apart when the castle is "played" with. I would not recommend this toy.

This is not a "toy" but a difficult "craft",

After spending over an hour assembling the castle for our 6 year old granddaughter, she quickly lost interest in decorating with the numerous tiny mosaics. Because of the flimsy cardboard construction, playtime was minimal and by the third day the castle was in the trash! There are other magnetic mosaics on the market which promote creativity and many hours of enjoyment.

Are you kidding me? I always thought I was pretty talented until trying to build the castle with my daughter. It took way too long, and my daughter lost patience. I had to finish it while she slept. Four hours later, poof the castle was complete. The directions are terrible, and the stickers too small. Not much fun.

Forget 6+, not even a ten year older could assemble this,

Don't buy this unless you as a parent want to spend 2 hours folding/connecting pieces of cardboards. My 7 yr old had 3 ten year old friends helping and no one could connect the cardboards until I showed up. Reminds me of constructing bookshelves or furniture imported from China with the poorly translated directions and diagrams.
Putting the jeweled stickers on the towers did captivate the girls, but one does not need to buy a castle for this. |
