I like this, it does NOT tip over, the sprinkler I have used for about 3 yrs now and with good results. The ONLY MInor problem with this sprinkler is this: If you have low water pressure, or say you have 3 or 4 hoses hooked up at the same time, sometimes, it will not cycle properly, it will get to the end and just stit there, creating a big wet spot. But compared to many of the other stands I have used and their cheapness or tipiness, I like it.

This is a great sprinkler! The coverage is enormous and the tripod feature allows you to sprinkle high and far. The original sprinkler head I received was defective but Orbit sent me a no hassle replacement. This is a great alternative to an underground sprinkler system.

This well-made unit solves my hilly terrain problem. It easily stands solid on a 30 degree slope.

The Orbit 58308 Tripod lawn sprinkler arrived within four days. Amazingly fast delivery that was greatly appreciated. This sprinkler was simple to put together- a child could do it. The parts are strong and very well made. The tripod base much better design and quality than my camera tripod. I disagree with the person who said it was unstable and flimsy. We found this base to be solid and perfect in weight to stay in place as long as you want. Perhaps the person who had trouble did not tighten the screw at the bottom near the hose attachment. This is a no brainer for anyone who has used a tripod before. In addition, we were excited by the very thoughtful design and the color of the base. The wonderful green blends in perfectly with the color of lawn and foliage. Brilliant design and execution. Bravo!!!

We just totally stripped and replanted out entire yard. We used this sprinkler exclusively and it was outstanding. Easy to move, doesn't tip over like most units and has a wide broadcast. Would have rated it 5 stars but the directional settings were difficult to set just right and it sometimes gets stuck in one position. Otherwise I highly recommend it!

It's a great idea, but needs some work. It looks great, and the features are all wonderful..but you don't get to appreciate them because the base is so light. As soon as the water is turned on, it falls over backward. I got more water on myself than my lawn. I finally gave up and got out my $10 sprinkler. Next time (I haven't given up yet), I'll try and place the legs in bricks or something else to hold it down. It's definetly more trouble than it's worth...but I already spent all that money on it, so I'll try and get some use out of it.

These sprinklers will work well, but they do have a few quirks. For example, don't tighten the collar at the hose connection too tightly, or it will strip off the pipe from the sprinkler, thereby ruining the sprinkler. I had that happen once, but got a replacement sprinkler from the vendor. I got several of these last year, and more this year, as I have a very large area that needs to be watered, and I did not want to have to move them around too much. And no, they don't tip over if you use any common sense about placing them on slopes. you may need to shorten the up-slope leg a bit to level the sprinkler. Also, don't position them on a slope with the water hose pulling them down hill. They have never tipped for me unless I did something stupid.

I replaced the impact sprayer with Gilmore rotary sprayers that have 80 feet diameter coverage. The tripod is very strong and the hose connection is good. When I set the tripod at the 4 foot height I can cover my 20,000 square foot front yard with 3 sprayers. the Orbit tripod base is an excellent product.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. This sprinkler will fail on you in less than a season. I purchased two from a local retailer. They were each over $40. I kept one unopened in the event that the first one failed in a year or two. I did not expect to have it start malfunctioning in less than 6 weeks and completely fail in 2 months. Furthermore, I made multiple attempts to reach the company and they NEVER responded. Orbit Irrigation needs to close its doors, as they are a terrible company with an inferior product. I wish I could offer an alternative, but if I can save one person from throwing away their money on this product, I will feel some relief.

I purchased this item because I have a lower back injury that prevents me from bending. I am extremely pleased with this sprinkler and would highly recommend it to anyone including people with similar physical limitations.
