Hi All -

This little tool has saved me a couple of extended repair jobs w/ our sprinkling system.

Here's a tip - Just in case you have a broken piece that needs removing but the extractor can't get a good enough grip, try heating the bit end w/ a Bic lighter or a 'bbq starting wand (it doesn't take much). This should semi 'melt' the bit into the piece that needs extracting then twist until removed. YMMV but it works for me.

Hope this helps .....

I grew up without nipples. I knew that one day, they would descend, and that would be the day when I could proudly call myself a woman. But I was growing worried. By the time I was 17, I still had no nipples. At 21, I was beginning to panic. When I turned 27, I finally found these nipple extractors, and they saved my self-esteem.

With two simple twists of the wrist, I flowered. Now I could proudly disrobe at the local topless beach, where before I'd been shamed.

I've just been debating whether or not I should attempt to locate superfluous nipples elsewhere on my body.

In case anybody was wondering what this item is really used for: when sprinkler systems pipes break off underground, it is difficult to remove them without a lot of digging. This extractor pushes into the broken section and has enough rough surface contact with the soft plastic pipe to allow the broken pipe to be twisted free from the rest of the system. Have used the item once to remove a pipe part broken by a tree root and it worked perfectly. For the price, it is a handy little gadget to keep with the sprinkler system repair items.

I had to remove a broken plastic pipe nipple from flush within the side of my in-ground pool, and the usual pliers, screwdriver, etc. extraction methods just were not working. I also knew that if I damaged the pipe threads in the pool wall, it could cost me big money to fix. Well many of us know about and already own "ez-outs" - screw extractors - so I started looking for pipe nipple extractors and came across this tool. It was a very good price and I ordered it with two-day shipping. It did exactly what I needed it to, and unscrewed the broken pipe from my pool effortlessly! I'm very happy to now have this tool in my toolbox for if and whenever this pipe breaks off again (and I expect that it will).

On my first attempt o repair a sprinkler head I realized it was very difficult to remove a broken PVC pipe below the thread line. I tried pliers and other tools with no luck Turns out someone has invented a tool for this problem. Insert this tool into the PVC and give a light tap with a hammer and it will have enough traction to to twist out the stuck pipe piece. I heard you can also try heating up the head with a lighter or torch and then inserting to melt the PVC to the tool and then twist. Have not tried this though.

Worthless item. Neither the 1/2" or 3/4" nipple extractors were threaded correctly and I was unable to attach them to the handle. Makes for a worthless item. As an ADD ON item, it does not show in my ordered products and I am unable to return or exchange it. Try one of the other extractors at a higher price. You get what you pay for. Avoid this item.......

simple and effective riser removal tool, within 2 seconds of adding the correct sized head to the handle, i removed my broken sprinkle riser stem from the pvc joint. this is one of those tools that seem wasteful to spend the money on but when you can actually remove the riser (sometimes you can still reused the old riser depending on how the threads that remain are still intact), it is well worth the money for the savings in time and frustration. do it right, the first time and the only time.

I saw a professional sprinkler repair person use a similar tool, so I thought I would buy one. It did the job of helping me extract a broken riser from an irrigation sprinkler head. An improvement would be for a way to keep both head sizes together somehow so the second head does not get lost.
