5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding work, very well produced, March 4, 2003

This review is from: Orbit (Audio CD)
Let's get things on the right track. First, the tracklist.

1. Orbit (Album Version)
2. Orbit (Airwave Remix)
3. Crazy (In The Night) [B-side]
4. Orbit (Mercury Federation Blue Planet Mix)
5. Orbit (Intuitive Maneuver Mix)
6. Orbit (KiloWatts' Rotation Mix)
7. Orbit (Extended Club Mix)

These two gentlemen, Casey "3pm" Clark and Caesar "Pedestrian" Filori, are no strangers to music production. Casey has four albums under his 3pm moniker, and Caesar has several remixes and a film score or two under his belt. So what makes this particular duo so fascinating? What if I told you they wrote this track and every other track on their forthcoming release "Universe" over the internet? No personal contact.

Despite that minor irritation in the production process, The Wideband Network has managed to produce great quality material that will suit the pop radio stations as well as the dancefloors.

"Orbit" was almost unanimously voted by their fans to be the lead single of the album. The original version of the song was easy to listen to, catchy, and captured the essence of what WBN was trying to achieve.

After signing with A Different Drum, they began seeking remixers. Boy, did they find them. They didn't have to look far, either; most of them are regulars at a BT fan community that they both frequent.

Airwave has turned out an outstanding dancefloor remix as usual, and KiloWatts' reworking of the track leaves an eerie feeling that, while contradictory to the sound of the rest of the single, is a welcome change of pace in the middle of the tracklist.

The Mercury Federation Blue Planet Mix is the standout track in my opinion. It can best be described as a catchy and unpredictable upbeat house mix. Very fun to listen to.

Keep your eyes open for the Wideband Network, this is only the beginning. "Universe" should arrive in the summer 2003. ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy, Yummy, March 13, 2003
This review is from: Orbit (Audio CD)
I had been waiting for this single for three months after having the chance to hear "Orbit" through the Wideband Network's site ...and I was not disappointed. The remixes are just as fun as the original song, my favorite being the eerie KiloWatts remix.

The single is worthy of its price. The cd length clocks in as 39 minutes and 41 seconds, and the remixes are distinct enough to not leave you wanting for (much) more, aside from the WBN's upcoming release in Summer 2003...

And lets not forget Crazy. It adds an extra bit of funk among the mixes.
