light and enlightening readingfor the beginner,
By Jason Crowell (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Orbital Mechanics: Theory and Applications (Hardcover)
I read this book on a whim and was surprised at how easily it was understood. The complicated concepts were explained so that anyone could understand them. This book takes a light and accurate approach to a subject full of misconceptions and apprehension for most people. I would recommend this book to anyone nominally interested in astronomy and science fiction, or for anyone who has never seen a satellite in orbit from earth (many are visible to the naked eye). Tom Logsdon writes clearly and intelligently making this subject accessible for most people.

This review is from: Orbital Mechanics: Theory and Applications (Hardcover)
This is one of the most clearly written, easy to understand books I have ever read! Tom Logsdon is a gifted writer. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people knowledgeable enough to write a book on orbital mechanics. But only a handful can explain the subject with such clarity. And fewer still can write in the interesting fashion that Logsdon went for.
