This review is from: Orbiting the Sun: Planets and Satellites of the Solar System (Harvard Books on Astronomy) (Hardcover)
I have read this book first time very long time ago. It was one of my first books about the planets. Since that time I was returning to it several times. I is ilustrated with very much pictures and drawings about the planets and satelites of the Solar system including the Earth. The Earth described on the same way as other planets. The book contains all necessary data young astronomist must have including the introduction to cosmology and astrophysics. The most attractive is the chapter about the Saturn and its rings. I'm expecting new edition of Whipple's book with new discovered facts about the Solar system. |
