5.0 out of 5 stars ...Enter the English countryside in all its splendor...
This CD continues the fine work of Richard Hickox and his forces at the BBC Philharmonic. As a seeming second-tier English composer probably because he was a producer mostly smaller scaled works and not for the finely crafted mini tone poem-styled approach to his composition I for one continue to be amazed how much Grainger's music grows on me. This review is from: Orchestral Works 3, Vol. 15 (Audio CD)
Now one caveat (as perhaps the other reviewer did not understand) if you do not have a taste for English classical music Grainger whose music is quintessentially "English" will not appeal to your tastes. But for the rest of us who periodically enjoy our tea and crumpets in tinier bite sized morsels then there is no greater master of this niche of the English music than Grainger. There is very little to complain about this CD....sound is well balanced and Hickox's conducting is flawless.

Strongly recommended****
