Product Description

Lamium is one of the best choices for a tough yet showy perennial groundcover. This classic selection forms a spreading patch of small silver leaves with a narrow green edge. Clusters of bright-pink flowers appear in spring, then continue off and on until fall. Fairly tolerant of dry shade, once established. Trim back in late winter. Stems will root into the ground where they touch, and any new plants that form can be easily moved in spring or fall. Also easily divided. Evergreen.

Lamium 'Orchid Frost'. The distinctive, two-toned effect of the leaves is unlike any other Lamium, and it loves shade! It bears bright, orchid-pink flowers during both the spring and the fall over its variegated silver foliage.

Most of the 40-odd species of Lamium are rampant-growing plants from Asia and Europe. All tolerate poor soils and a range of light conditions. The few ornamental varieties have the great value of being lovely ground covers that prosper in dry shade.

Hardy Zones: 3-9.

We ordered several lamiums from Hirts, and they all arrived beautiful and healthy. I can't wait to see these spreading in my shade garden over the next several years. They are delicate looking, but the plants we received were hardy and full. Even better than expected.

I have grown lamium for many years and this is the first time that it has not grown well. Some of the plants have died or are close to dying.

Size Name: One Quart Pot
i bought one of the one quart sized "orchid frost" lamium. it arrived in good shape and it is beautiful. it loves a semi shady area and it is doing great. i am so very happy that i bought this living plant from this source. it is a low growing plant for the shade areas and it is very fun just to look at and to take care of. right now i keep my lamiums in nursery pots so that i can move them to the right location as needed. thank you!
