Book Description

May 6, 2004
Memories Never Fade Jason Simons (Sims) can't seem to understand his constant mental quagmire over the belief that he is no longer in love with his girlfriend, Kelly. In a last ditch effort to understand himself, he decides to take up his best friend's offer to leave Baltimore and drive back to their hometown, Morehead City, North Carolina, to attend their ten-year high school reunion. However, Sims has other plans in store that could possibly determine his fate along with that of many others. Lingering memories of his high school sweetheart, Sonya, could stir up more than just old embers. When There's a DEMON in ViewHome is a place Sims has run from ever since his father's untimely death and his sister Carol's murder. Carol disappeared along with many other girls in what was thought to be one of the largest unsolved killing sprees in the nation. With matters involving local pirate folklore, homeland security, computer hackers, and a serial killer dating back to the early 1700's, those who know Sims will discover another side of life often taken for granted survival and each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars IT IS OF NO COINCIDENCE...., June 6, 2004

This review is from: Order of Coincidence: A Novel (Paperback)
Make note and for the record. It Is Of No Coincidence that once again, Mark Wildes, who also wrote the must read, To Yesterday, writes another spell-binding page turner in, Order of Coincidence.

Franz Kafka once said, "A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside of us." Order of Coincidence is the axe that will take you into the world of good and evil, both on land and sea. Hang on tight mate! Get ready to be de-thawed.

Past, Present and Future collide in a haunting tale that only Jason Simons (Sims) can see through to its end. Sims has been trying to find himself in the many areas of his life. From the women he loves, to the memories of his high school years and even his earlier years when he had to learn to survive the loss of his father and his sister. As Sims is to find out, all lives, good and evil are connected in one way or another. As a result, there is a Demon that lurks and Sims is brought face to face with evil that involves local pirate folklore, computer hackers, homeland security and a serial killer that dates back to the 1700's.

This haunting tale begins for Sims when he accepts his best friends offer to leave Baltimore and drive back home to Morehead City, N.C. to attend their 10 year high school class reunion. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Kelly, and his job, only to discover that everything is not what it seems back home in Morehead City and, in the end...no matter how much evil lurks.....only three things really matter...faith, hope and love...I say no more.....you now have to turn the pages and read for yourself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not waste your time, October 22, 2011
This review is from: Order of Coincidence: A Novel (Paperback)
If you enjoy reading then you should not read this book. If you know anything about the area in which this book is based, then you should not read this book. If you like a well written story, then you should not read this book.
I am cursed with the fact that I must finish all books that I start reading. The only reason I finished this book was because of this curse.
The writing makes me feel that the author took no more than the minimal English classes required while he was working on his undergraduate degree. His descriptions of situations would go on and on and on. I would find myself skipping entire paragraphs and not caring enough to want to go back and read them.
He wrote the story in first person, however it seemed like the main character was able to read minds because he was always able to tell what the other characters were thinking. He knew everything that was going on. The book was very predictable. There was never a moment where I was surprised.
So do yourself a favor and don't even start to read this book.
