4.0 out of 5 stars fun and funny book, November 28, 2004

This review is from: Out Of Order (Harlequin Flipside) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm glad to took a chance on this book. I'm not usually a series gal
but this was light, humorous and fun. Shelby and Dallas sometimes
come close to stereotype territory (she's supposed to be zany
and he's the staid lawyer) but then deeper layers are shown
as the story progresses and we get to know them. It's all a little
compacted (for space reasons I would assume as the story is
only 219 pages long) but overall the situations are believable.
Perhaps a bit RomanceLand but not as off the wall and far out
as some plot premises and threads we've all groaned at.

I'm not sure about the law aspects but Dunlop doesn't make the
mistake of trying to add too much detail to show how brilliant
Dallas is supposed to be. Nor does she have Shelby suddenly
acquire an in-depth knowledge of law overnight and crack a case.

There's nothing earth shattering about this book but I had a fun
time reading it and the pages just seemed to fly by. I've got another
Flipside book and if it turns out well, I'm
going to have to check this line out more. B
