I want to say (like all the other reviewers) that I too enjoyed this book. It is very reflective.
That being said, I wasn't expecting this layout of the book. It is many short stories or short reflections. I was somewhat expecting a "book" to read. I was surprised by this format. I wanted to specifically inform other portential buyers of that fact.

Mary DeMuth has written an insightful book all moms will be able to identify with. Using her life as a backdrop for the challenges and joys all moms face, she finds valuable life lessons in both the ordinary and the extraordinary. Her manner of leading readers to a new way of thinking is gentle, encouraging, friendly and helpful. I benefited immensely and know my kids will too as a result. I highly recommend this book!

I just finished Demuth's book and it was wonderful! From the beginning to the final page I smiled, sighed and nodded my head. She has such a talent for weaving words and phrases into a beautiful tapestry of family and faith. I felt included, enlightened and refreshed. I highly recommend it for every mom.

I agree that this is hard to put down. There were several chapters that made me want to laugh and cry all at the same time. Thanks for penning my thoughts so eloquently. I definitely feel understood and encouraged...

I have just finished reading this incredible book. My only complaint is that I found it almost impossible to put down. I wanted to use it as a morning devotional, but I could not make myself stop with just one chapter per day.
It truly opened my eyes(and more times than not, filled them with tears), to the reality that being a wife and mother IS a ministry in God's work and it comes with a myriad of rewards that we will continue to see through years to come.
Mrs. DeMuth becomes like one of your best friends that you can't wait to hear from each day just to find out what she will say. I plan on starting from the beginning and enjoying this "treasure" all over again.
Thank you, Mrs. DeMuth, for your obedience to God in writing these words of wisdom and experience. I hope there will be more to come.

I'm a mom and a grandma so I've read a lot of books on motherhood and parenting. This is the most honest,practical, real-to-life encouragement I've come across yet! Mary DeMuth is an extraordinary author! Her 60 devotional writings tug at your heartstrings. Sometimes her personal stories make you want to cry. Other times you simply laugh out loud. This is a "must read" for anyone who wants a good dose of HOPE. And we ALL need that! I hadn't even finished the book before I ordered more for gifts.

This book is so encouraging no matter what stage of motherhood you are in! It is so great because it actually deals with what we go through every day as moms! I am reading it for the second time because I loved it so much and it just makes you laugh, cry, and remember that you are not alone in your journey of raising kids. In todays world we need all the encouragment we can get and Mary E. DeMuth does an amzing job capturing the everyday moments that we struggle with and showing how God is glorified through each one! I totally reccomend this book 100 times over!

In this refreshing devotional, Mary's openness and honesty creates a connection that overcomes differences in race and culture. It is a devotional that speaks to mothers from all walks of life. I highly reccomend Ordinary Mom, Extraordinary God. It's a blessing to know, that our God is not someone up there, but he is very real and very relevant.

What a tall mocha is to coffee lovers, Mary DeMuth is to devotional writing: refreshing, habit-forming, and better when shared with a friend. This book is for the sort of mom who wants her spirit and brain to grow rather than to atrophy during "the laundry years."
