4.0 out of 5 stars Seem Fine, But A Bit Large For Ariens Snow Thrower
I ordered this set of chains for my new Ariens snow thrower with 16x650-8 tires. When installed the chains were way too loose, with the side pieces hitting the steel wheels and the cross links bunching up together. I decided to cut out one link of each cross piece. The links proved to be too hard to cut with a hacksaw (good, as they should survive my gravel drive...

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh
Unlike the other guy who reviewed these, I actually used them. They work alright for adding some traction to my elderly snowblower, except for the fact they're actually for three different size tires, so there's some slack to deal with. And absolutely not one shred of instructions. "Oregon" seems to be the chain saw company, yet there's no hint of these chains (or any...

Unlike the other guy who reviewed these, I actually used them. They work alright for adding some traction to my elderly snowblower, except for the fact they're actually for three different size tires, so there's some slack to deal with. And absolutely not one shred of instructions. "Oregon" seems to be the chain saw company, yet there's no hint of these chains (or any tire chains) on their site. And not a mention of "Oregon" anywhere on the generic blue plastic box, so I'm guessing these are expensive counterfeits. For the instructions, Google saved the day, of course, but it just seems rather stingy to not stick a single xerox page of laughably engrish language instructions in the box for us tire chain newbies.

I ordered this set of chains for my new Ariens snow thrower with 16x650-8 tires. When installed the chains were way too loose, with the side pieces hitting the steel wheels and the cross links bunching up together. I decided to cut out one link of each cross piece. The links proved to be too hard to cut with a hacksaw (good, as they should survive my gravel drive better.), but yielded to a cut-off wheel mounted in my Dremel rotary tool. Of course that meant having to bend open one end of every cross link. I ordered these chains because they have a cross piece every other link of the side chains and should be much smoother than previous chains that often set up a "waddling" motion of my previous snow thrower. That meant a lot of cutting and bending, but the fit was perfect when done.

Bought these snow chains for my snow blower...But have not been able to use them, since the weather suddenly changed, so will have to wait until next winter...But I am sure they will be great...
Anything has to be better than what happened this winter...
