2.0 out of 5 stars Skid Shoe replacement
Read description of this item carefully. Price is for ONE skid shoe, eventhough all snowblowers have TWO skid shoes that wear out at approximately the same time. This is not a replacement for all Toro snowblowers. The dimensions are correct, but the bolt slots are not. Very heavy duty but expensive for just one skid shoe. Would recomend that you take your skid shoes...

Snowblower skids wear out in a winter season or less if you use your snowblower more than occasionally. If they're not replaced, you can damage the scraper blade and other, more expensive, parts of the mower.

Fortunately, skids are easy to replace. Here's how: Move the snowblower to a flat and level surface, such as the garage floor. Then slide a couple of wooden paint stirring sticks under the snowblower's scraper blade, loosen the bolts that hold the old, worn skids, and remove them. Put the new skids in place, push them down so they are resting on the floor, and tighten the bolts. That's it! If the skids are worn but still have some life in them, they can be adjusted the same way that new ones are installed.

My local Toro dealer wanted $20 apiece for replacement skids, so I order them 4 at a time from Amazon at half the cost and always have spares on hand.

Would recomend that you take your skid shoes to a local retailer and match up not just the size but also the bolt pattern.

looks like a quality replacement but I won't know the quality of the steel until next winter to see if my driveway tears up these skids like it did to the other ones?
