I enjoyed this story much more then the first book in the series. Lydia is desperately trying to me a proper young woman while crossing the open Prairie. Corporal Mike Brown respects Lydia's spunk but promised himself that he would never love again. When Lydia begins to let her guard down around Mike he is overjoyed! A promise stands in the way of their love and neither one is sure what the outcome will be. This was a sweet story that combines adventure, love, and loyalty to give a well rounded story.
