From the Manufacturer

Oregon Scientific's Long Range Weather Forecaster with Clock keeps you in touch with the weather conditions that affect comfort most: temperature and humidity. Its multi-channel base unit lets you monitor conditions in up to three remote locations (one sensor included) via remote sensors set up as far as 300 feet away. The clock feature automatically sets itself to the US Atomic Clock for precision accuracy. Plus, you get the local forecast and barometric pressure trends-all in the comfort of your own home or office. There's even a crescendo alarm to ease you into your day, and a handy snooze button to put it off. This innovative weather station gives weather forecasts for 12 to 24 hours with kinetic-movement icons for easy reading.

this thing does it all, and is one of the better looking units from oregon scientific. they really need to fire their industrial designer because most of the products look dorky.

i have had no problems with the base unit or the remote transmitter, it can even transmit from inside my freezer!

the only issue i have is i wish the back light stayed on longer (or at least as long as the back light button is pressed).

i highly recommend this unit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it should- but needs new batteries..., October 31, 2006

I must have had 8 windows open for electronic weather stations before picking this one.

I got this unit along with an extra remote sensor. When I took the plastic tab out to allow the batteries to make contact and the units came on...

...they all had a different temp even after 10 minutes of being right next to each other. We're talking as much as 4 degrees difference and 7% difference on the humidity.

Got all new name brand batteries and put them in.

Now the temps are within a degree of each other. Why this would make a difference, I'm not sure- but it did.

In fact, the base unit nearly synchs up exactly with a cheaper unit I got 2yrs ago.

It looks pretty good and I'm getting this as a Bday present for a friend.

Give this unit a shot, but be sure to get 6 new AA batteries!
