Basically, what you do is play 30 maths games, 12 French AND Spanish games and 20 English games! There is also some pretty cool utilties including: A screen-saver maker (You put in the little stamps and things where you want to) and there is a calculator with flower shaped keys even! My little sister's favourite part is that you can play a game where you have a little dance mat and you copy Barbie's moves! Thats on the 'just for fun' section!

When my little sister got this we were surprised to find you could even make a screen-saver! You choose characters (Barbie, Christie or Teresa or them all!) and you choose back-grounds (lakes, flowers, stage and more!) and you can even get COOL stamps! Choose the routine and Barbie music! Also, colour, number and letter keys helped her to know about mummy's computer! She has it all set up on her art desk! I also think it is cute how the mouse flashes and you can watch Barbie! In the 'just for fun' section you can play a dance mat game but the bes is the make-over game! Add eye-shadow and blusher and then get this little reward!

This item is one of the two barbie laptops that Oregon Scientific makes. This is for Preschool and Kindergarteners. I ordered it for a 1st grader and it is too easy for that age. There is another Barbie laptop made by Oregon Scientific which has a QWERTY keyboard, a mouse, teaches Spanish, and is much more advanced. This is the laptop I wanted for my 1st grader. Look for the more advanced laptop for 1st grade and above.

My youngest DD wanted an 'omputah' for her december birthday [she was turning 3] My mom wished to get something to fit so I picked this out based on the wide age range - figuring she'd just push buttons for awhile . . . it's now been about three full months and using it a few times a week she now knows her letter and numbers [and she's the third kid so you can be sure I wasn't teaching her LOL] and I figured out which toy it was because she also wil point to, say, an owl somewhere and say 'o is for owl!' which is the word the machine uses
Her newly 6yo brother enjoys playing with it [different parts obviously] and now I'm here looking for a boyish one to spend his birthday gcs on cause he hates the indignity of having to ask his baby sister for permission to use hers LOL

I bought this laptop for my 3 yr old daughter because she sat in the aisle of a store playing with it for ever one day. I have been extremely happy with my purchase. I can tell that she is learning a lot and she loves to work on her "laptop" while mommy is working on hers. There are plenty of games that she can play now and many that will challenge her for a while to come.

First of all, this item is very loud and has no volume control and no headphone jack, so you have no choice but to listen to it at a ridiculous volume.

Secondly, the recommendation or 3-9 years is absurd. My daughter is 5 and has mastered most of the tasks on this "computer" in no time at all. For the price, I would expect a toy to keep a child's attention for longer than a few days!

In short, don't waste your money!

I ordered this product for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas, considering the recommended age group of 3-9 years (by toys r us) (it's 3-12 years by the manufacturer) This product is way too simple for a 5 year old, probably more suitable for a 3 year old. It focuses on teaching letters and numbers, something most 4-5 year olds already know, and certainly most 9-12 year olds. Get it for your 3 year old, but expect them to master it quickly.

My daughter just received this laptop for her 4th birthday. I would love to give it 5 stars, but it is entirely TOO LOUD. It is hard to imagine that a product that can do so many things does not have volume control. In order for her to use it, I am going to have to figure out how to tape something over the speaker to reduce the volume. I'd be interested to know what decibal this product is tested at. It can NOT be healthy for anyone's hearing. Very disappointed.

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it!! It is something that she can play on her own and we can play together. It has a lot of phonics games and other word and letter games... and best of all it keeps her occupied in the car!!!

Whatever product engineers built this lovely toy withOUT a volume control should be fired! This laptop was bought for my 8 year old daughter. It's so easy. She mastered it in one night. I can't believe the manufacturer recommends this for ages 3-12. ??
