This does exactly what we want it to do. Super easy to set up and accurate in its reading. We didn't need all of the extra information the other models offered. This is actually the second one we bought. I accidentally dropped the Indoor reader on the ground and the face cracked. After a week, we realized we REALLY missed it and ordered a new one.

This item was returned by myself due to a product miss description from an Amazon template the seller used. However, the product is really nice & accurate within 0.5 degrees. Nice looking but the only complaint I can say about this unit is that the stand that is used for the desk top is cheezy & it is attached to the battery compartment. When I pulled the little picture frame stand out to prop it up, the battery compartment cover popped off. A little annoying but I would venture to say that if you didn't move it around a lot on the desk (or flat surface) this is a nice unit. The mounting of the sensor is a little bit of an issue & is sensative to blocking...like walls. If one is trying to get a signal but where you mount it & it has to transmit thru a wall, I found the main unit had to be closer to wall on which the sensor is mounted.

I own a different Oregon Scientific thermometer Oregon Scientific RMR382-B Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Atomic Clock, Black with the same sensor & I have the same issue with it as well. However, should you ever decide to upgrade, the sensor is universal with other units that allow you to select which channel to set the sensor on. For example, like me, I have one inside a trailer, one on the side of the house & one in a sunroom. So you can specifically set the sensor in your preferance of which order you want them to be displayed.

Very easy to use unit & if I only wanted to know indoor & outdoor temp, this is a unit that I would consider buying.

Two things I would consider doing...go to the manufactures web site & view the details of the unit you'd like to buy. Take a quick peek at the instruction manual.

I bought this for my house almost seven years ago. I love the magnets on the display unit so that it can attach anywhere to the frig. The temperature display is simple and not complicated and there is no other information other than temperature, which is all I want. Other than changing the batteries, this unit has never given me any problems. When you change the batteries in the remote sensor you have to hit the reset button on the display unit or it won't recognize the remote temperature. If this one ever dies I hope they are still making these so I can buy another one.

Don't waste your money on this product.
The blinking light was annoying, then the outdoor thermometer stopped working after only a few weeks.
Reset or replace batteries didnt' solve the problem. It is dead, just in time for the first snow storm...

recently bought the emr201 wireless themometer, lasted a week when the outside sensor would no longer transmit data to the base thermometer. Tried everything to correct problem but nothing helped. Called Oregon Scientific support center, and while they were very nice they could offer little help. Basically thermometer is a waste of money and mine is on its way back to the seller.

The connection with the battery in the remote didn't work untuil I bent the wire so it would make contact. Then I had to keep resetting the master until I deduced that it was getting interference from our phone system. After changing the frequency setting, it finally worked OK.

The base unit had a terrible time establishing and maintaining a connection to the remote sensor. In addition, the base unit won't stand up by itself on a flat surface, as it is depicted here. So you can't set it on a desk, counter, or, where I expected to use it, on the windowsill over the kitchen sink. The base unit does have magnets and a keyhole if you want to hang it that way, but I did not.

I had ordered two of these to replace a similar system from Taylor whose LCD display had begun to fail after five years of regular use. Alas, Taylor no longer makes that system, so I had to try this one from Oregon Scientific. The two base units gave different temperature readings, and one NEVER connected to the remote sensor. The other connected when they were right next to each other, but lost the connection as soon as I took the sensor outside.

The thermometer is not useful, though I hope you have found this review to be.

Nice unit. Bought for RV outside air temperature and black ice warning.
I have another OR Sci unit for our house and shop monitoring.
I set all four units next to each other and let then stabilize over-night.
Surprise, three of the four readings were identical, to 0.1 degree.
The four was off, reading 1.0 degree to high. (Inside temp of this EMR201).
It works great for my intended purpose.
