All in all, this little gadget is OK. It could really use a backlight and the atomic clock feature only works if you live within 932 miles of Boulder, Colorado. The weather forecaster is based on detecting fluctuations in barometric pressure. The thermometer appears to work fine and I didn't have much trouble synchronizing the remote sensor. Finally, you'll need 3 AA batteries to run the main station and 2 AAA batteries for each remote sensor.

My only complaint with this is that it seems to lose the signal for the outside temperature frequently. Other than that, I think it works very well.

Worth noting: I thought that it was wall-mountable. It is NOT. There is a large plastic base built in that makes wall-mounting impossible.

Bottom line: Great for the price

I bought two versions, one with weather forecast and the other just temp. Both work fine and were easy to install. The only fault I see is they cannot be hung on a wall, my preference, but must sit on a table top. Other that that there work fine

I really like this clock, it has all the info. I could ask for but I only wish that it had a backlight so, I could see it what time it is at night or early in the morning.

I bought this have at work and planned on buying a second eventually to replace my similar functioning unit at home. This unit setup quickly and gives a nice display of time/date/internal temp, but the external receiver is unreliable. I haven't even placed the second unit outside and it is losing signal needing a reset a couple of times a day - from five feet away! I wish I had tried it sooner and not thrown out the packaging as I would return it if I had.

For a small weather station, it has a lot of information to give. My family is constantly checking this unit before leaving the house to determine what to wear, and how the weather will be changing. We love it. I bought two additional units for both of my sisters.

I bought this product to replace my "Oregon Scientific BAR933HGA Message Weather Station" which recently stopped working. I was completely satisfied with my old model: atomic clock always precise, inside and outside temps always accurate. The "weather forecast" wasn't really accurate, but I didn't expect it to be, considering it uses only barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature trends to "forecast".

When I bought this replacement, I was basically only looking for two things: an outside temperature monitor and an accurate atomic clock. I am thoroughly disappointed considering I got neither. The base unit measures the inside temperature in my home pretty accurately, however the remote unit consistently reports the outside temperature 4 or 5 degrees higher than it actually is. I have the remote in exactly the same spot as my previous one (which was accurate). It's about 4 feet off the ground and in the shade (as it should be). If OS can make one model measure the temp accurately, why can't it make all their models measure accurately? Now, I realize I can just subtract 4 or 5 from the outside temp to get pretty close to the actual temp, but that's not really the point, is it?

As a prior reviewer noted, the atomic clock will not pick up the radio signal unless you live within about 900 miles of Boulder, CO. Since I am in N.C. the atomic clock feature is utterly useless to me. This "technicality" should absolutely be stated in the product description since the great majority of the population does NOT live within 900 miles of Boulder. I now ask the same question about the atomic clock feature - if OS can make one model pick up the signal from anywhere in the country, why not put that technology in all their models? Ironically, I don't think you can pick the atomic clock signal up with this unit IN OREGON!

Buy a different weather station.

One of my primary reasons for purchasing this weather station was to have relatively accurate outdoor temperature readings so I would know when temperatures are sub-freezing. Since I have a fairly lengthy commute to work knowing what climatic conditions outside may be in advance can help me determine whether to leave earlier or later each morning.

After taking the unit of of the box one of the first things I did was to compare temperature measurements received from the unit's wireless sensor (outdoor) to those of the indoor monitor with both sitting side-by-side indoors. Although it was quickly apparent that the wireless sensor was relatively slow in it's response time to changes in temperatures after 15-20 minutes the indoor and outdoor readings were only separated by a few tents of a degree F. However, one the outdoor sensor was placed outside I soon realized the sensor readings w/temperatures near freezing were grossly innacurate. Comparisons made with another wired indoor/outdoor unit and a mercury thermometer showed the Oregon Scientific's outdoor sensor was overstating the oudoor temperatures by approximately 4 deg. F when temperatures were at 32 deg. F.

Based on comments I've read from owners of similar units, innacurate readings from the wireless sensors seem to be common. The indoor and outdoor temperature works great. The barometer picture is not accurate, at times. Customer service doesn't seem too anxious to help with questions. If you call the 800 number they do call back, but if you are not home they leave a message that isn't a toll free number, for call back. I'm not going to play phone tag, so I still have questions, about the operation, of the unit, that are not answered in the paperwork.

I don't know what it is about weather tools, buy guys love them. I bought this because I believed it was a good deal and instead of watching the weather channel, I figured that this would give me a more localized weather forecast as it says that it can determine the weather around you for the next 12 hours. The temperature is accurate, but a lot of times it says heavy rain when it is sunny and there is not a cloud in the sky. Sinking the device was a little challenging for whatever reason, but once working everything is fine. Overall it is a neat little affordable gadget, but not very accurate if you are dependent on the accuracy of its weather forcasts.
