5.0 out of 5 stars Great probe
I have had a WMR-968 weather station for the last 7 years and have never had any problems with this probe, all I have had to do is change the batteries every couple of years.

This sensor performs the key functions of the WMR968 remote weather sensing system. I have had this system for three years and have had to replace this sensor annually, just after the warrenty would expire. In addition, when trying to find a replacement, it is usually "out of stock" for 2 to 3 months. There are serious reliability issues with this system. I now keep a new sensor in reserve to avoid long down times. When it works it's great. I will not however, choose this company's products in the future.

3.0 out of 5 stars Replacement for weather station, January 28, 2012

My original THGR968 failed after 1.5 years. The symptom was an obviously skewed humidity reading. I purchased the replacement and it has been working perfectly since then. Getting the sensor and the base synched up was a little cumbersome, with me having to run between the units a few times resetting both until the new unit was recognized. Once communication was initially established, there were no further issues. I suspect that the original unit that failed may have been damaged by insects nesting in the solar radiation shield, so after installing the new unit, I added screening to the shield to prevent any further infestation (the screening is only under the overhanging areas so it does not absorb any heat from the sun). I have had no issues with the replacement unit, but based on the original unit's failure, I can only give this item a 3/5 rating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Had to return it., October 23, 2011

The item came on time but the device,a combined temperature, humidity sensor, was way off on the temperature, 10-15 degrees, sometimes high, sometimes low. I was unable to assess the accuracy of the humidity sensor. I returned it this week to the distributor. Will see what the response is.

Interesting reading that others have had to replace sensors. Mine have been running 5 years with no failures except battery replacements.

I love my wireless station and would recommend it to my friends.

1.0 out of 5 stars Premature Failure, Poor Company Support, August 4, 2008
This review is from: Oregon Scientific THGR968 Thermo-Hygrometer, THGR-968
WMR-968 / WMR-918 / WMR-112A Outdoor Thermometer/Hygrometer w/Solar Transmitter. This item failed within warranty; however, I have been informed that it has been "discontinued" and no allowance or compensation is available. Sail clear of this company.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it!, August 5, 2008

I've had the Oregon Scientific Professional Weather Station for 6+ years (model WMR968) and I love it. I have had the thermometer/hygrometer sensor fail but it was easily replaced. I bought additional indoor wireless sensors and they were easily added to the system (I have a total of three indoor and one outdoor). I love knowing what the temperature/humidity is indoors and it varys greatly at times. The system lets me make appropriate adjustments to ensure our indoor conditions are comfortable. Knowing what the weather is like outside, right outside my door, not 5 or more miles away, is wonderful. I found this system to be reliable, amazingly resiliant and definitely something I would not only recommend but would purchase again.
