Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. atomic clock, this travel alarm clock keeps time with split-second accuracy by automatically adjusting, if necessary, to the atomic clock's signals six times every 24 hours. The atomic clock, operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is one of the most accurate in the world. From its signals, this slim (5/8 inch thick) little clock (3-1/2 by 2-1/2 inches) not only shows the precise time but also displays on its LCD screen the date and day. (The day can be shown in English, Spanish, or French.)

The screen also displays what North American time zone the clock is set for, and that zone can be selected by the user. The alarm is a crescendo, increasing in volume and intensity to wake even the soundest, jet-lagged sleeper. Other features include a fold-away stand; 8-minute snooze and blue backlighting when the bar above screen is pressed; an indicator showing how well the radio receiver is receiving the atomic clock's signals; automatic adjustment for daylight-saving time and leap year; and a low-battery icon. As a backup, time, day, and date can be set manually as well as automatically. The clock operates on two AAA batteries (which are included). --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars TIMING IS EVERYTHING, July 20, 2002
This review is from: Oregon Scientific Travel Clock with Calendar (Kitchen)
We've not missed a tour or a meal with the help of this reliable little travel alarm clock. If getting up is difficult due to jet lag or a too late night, it even offers an extra 8 minutes with a snooze alarm.

Space is always a factor when on the go, which is another plus for this clock. It's about 3" by 2", fitting nicely into the palm of one's hand. And, for a small clock it has a get-up-and-go alarm that will awake anyone.

It runs on two AAA batteries, and is easily switched between time zones. Plus, there is no annoying tick-tock, tick-tock when you're trying to go to sleep.

We're well pleased with its reliability. Time marches on, and so does this Oregon Scientific Travel Alarm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, January 23, 2007
I'm an airline pilot, and this clock has been in my overnight bag for the past 6 or 7 years. It has been fantastic, always wakes me up with its crecendo alarm, sets itself for daylight savings, and is easy to set the alarm. It just recently has lost the use of its backlight, but I still love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best travel clock for sound sleepers., June 10, 2007

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a wonderful travel clock for sound sleepers. I have used other travel clocks but the alarm failed to wake me up. I am grateful for the previous comments regarding this clock. It is worth the extra money. I have spent so much on travel clocks which were totally ineffective. The clock is small, about 3/4's the length of a pack of cards and about as thick as a pack. When I travel by air I do as current TSA suggests and place the batteries (2 small AAA) in the clock. Thanks to the manufactor and to Amazon and its reviews.
