Pool Sensor February 5, 2010
I bought this so I could see the temp of our pool. It works great and very accurate. Had it in pool for 2 years and still looks brand new and no apparent harm caused to it from the chlorine. It has a big readout so you can se temp from pool side and or in the pool. My pool is about 40 feet from my weather station and have never had a problem getting signal.

Didn't like weather station November 22, 2009
This unit never talked well with our weather station so we bought a new station recommended by the manufacturer and it still would not communicate. This unit also leaked which did not happen with the other floating sensors that I purchased. I have tried one of each brand now with disappointing results, frosted view window, leaking, short duration (3 months) of use, maybe the technology has not advanced enough for this idea yet.

Currently using a WMR200A Oregon Scientific weather station and wanted to install the THWR800A Wireless Floating Temperature Sensor to a home spa. The temperature sensor installed and was recognized by the WMR200A in less than 3 minutes. The unit has been working without any issues for the past two months.

Works Great !
Added this sensor to my WMR80A weather station so I could monitor the water temperature in my Koi Pond. Had it hooked and working with 15 minutes. Works Great.

Perfect
Works perfectly and instantly. Easy to set up. Added a little silicone grease myself to make absolutely sure it wouldn't leak.

Item likely good; seller failed
The only reason I'm giving this item a one star is due to the seller ANTOnline. This item came in a cheap bubble wrap bag and did not work immediately upon opening. Read more

Very convenient, but take steps to prevent leaks
Update 4/8/11: I found an improved wireless pool sensor at the local Home improvement store called Acu-Rite model 00617. The design seems superior to this leaky one. Read more

So far so good...
I have this tethered to a dock post in the lake. After 4 weeks seems to be fine. I don't use it as a remote, only as a stand-alone device. Read more
