Oregon Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer is very reliable and accurate. The remote sensor is posted one floor below the thermometer on the same side of the house. Battery life is good. The only shortcoming is that the readout is too small which makes it hard to see from across the room or in low light.

I had purchased other such units for which the batteries lasted one or two months. A member of our family is and electrical engineer and suggested the Oregon Scientific Unit as one for which the batteries would last and last. I have had this unit for about six months and have had no battery issues as of yet. It works well and and is very accurate in that it is always just a degree on either side of the current temperature given one [...]. Sometimes it is spot on! We are very happy with this unit. If it fails in any respect, I will return to add that information to this review.

Convenient thermometer and remote are easily set up for viewing outdoor temperature while you're enjoying the indoor temperature also displayed with the current time.

This is my third such thermometer in three years. Unlike the previous two that 'died of old age,' this one has failed to function properly from day one. The two temperature readings are off by 2-4 degrees F and the clock works but tells the wrong time. My experience to date makes me think that "Made in China" has the same negative connotation that "Made in Japan" had before WW2. The indoor case looks good, is easy to read and provides illumination on demand, all good features. But one shouldn't judge by the cover.
