Note: The updated recipe and packaging is great, apparently this company doesn't sell it though.

It's also relatively filling, so is a good meal substitute.

Orgain has changed the formula WITHOUT announcing or stating anything on the product! Those of us who buy cases have this product which is considerably different and of poor taste than the previous production. Appears that the new product (any with a best by date of August 2013 and beyond) have the antioxidants removed and stevia added, soy lecithin removed. Completely changed the taste and consistency as if it is spoiled.

I've been drinking this shake every day for the past few months and totally agree with BOOKS's review - the recent batches have such a horrible, spoilt taste it was unbelievable.
Have to check on the change in the formula (adding stevia instead of sugar etc) - that will be bad enough, but on top of that I suspect the horrible taste is not just taste and not just due to formula change - I suspect it maybe a bad batch of shakes ie. spoilt - because I've experienced this in 2 separate orders of multiple 12-packs. And some 12-packs were totally fine (original good taste) and other 12-packs had a few boxes with the horrible taste but others with the good taste. AND I got a stomach upset 2 different times in 2 months when I had the whole box of the bad tasting stuff thinking it was not spoilt.....
The same 12-pack having some cartons good and others bad tasting pretty much indicates its not due to change in the Orgain formula but due to actual spoiling.
Spoiling could either be due to
a) Amazon storage conditions being too extreme (ie. excess heat etc)
b) Conditions during transportation (UPS) being too extreme (ie. excess heat etc)
c) Manufacturing issue at Orgain facility
d) Defective / damaged aseptic boxes or the boxes not being totally aseptic, thus allowing bacterial etc spoiling.

Am definitely speaking to Amazon to investivate this.

Eating enough fruit and veggies isn't always easy. This product says one container is the equivalent of 10 servings! And the taste is pretty good. It's also relatively filling, so is a good meal substitute.

They changed the formula to remove soy lecithin and also added stevia. Not a big fan of the new formulation but it is still the best protein drink out there, IMO. It's good for meal replacement and I also use it as a pre or post workout drink.

HORRIBLE new taste without announcing it to the consumer and an upset stomach as well. I am on auto ship for this product - NOT ANY LONGER!!!
I am done with this drink- I do not even trust the company any longer.
My advise is to stay away and look for an alternative.
