Most Helpful Customer Reviews

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Matthew T. Phillips on June 2, 2009
This CD stands out in my large collection of organ recordings as one of the best. The sound quality is wonderful. This is a great CD for an organ connoisseur or someone who has listened to a couple of collection-type CDs and is ready to drill down into a baroque repertoire.

Simon Preston does great work with Bach's organ concertos, which gleam with an inventive and enthusiastic touch. He uses a clean, crisp playing style, and the recording has the perfect balance of richness and clarity.

Fans of Bach's preludes and fugues will find these concertos familiar and yet livelier than the more popular works in Bach's canon.
