One of the best books on the topic. A "must have", I think. I appreciated a lot the taxonomy of stops in different languages, but the rest is good too

As a beginning student of the organ, "Organ-Stops and Their Artistic Registration" is of great help in understanding the working, setting of organ stops. As one who is just learning, I cannot be one to give advice for others, but this book is very helpful to me and one that I have been referring to often. S. Robertson
