Plantation Blackstrap Valuable for Good Health,
This review is from: Organic Blackstrap Molasses, 16 oz. (Grocery)
My husband and I have consumed Plantation Blacstrap for 30 years. Plantation Blackstrap has minimal sugar content, high in calcium and iron plus other valuable nutrients. After a sledding accdient and less one kidney and my spleen, I found it very helpful to cosume during my pregnancies and while nursing babies. All my children use it and we're trying to pass the habit downline to grandchildren! I haven't done research on quality blackstrap companies in years, but when I did - Plantation Blackstrap was the BEST!

Calcium and Iron Gluconate - Tops!,
By
This review is from: Organic Blackstrap Molasses, 16 oz. (Grocery)
This particular brand, "Plantation", is the only molasses where only two tablespoons contains 20% of the RDA of Iron as well as Calcium. In molasses, the iron and calcium are in the form of sugars, which means they are more bio-available than any other form. I put it in hot water and the sweet-bitter flavor makes me think I'm drinking coffee. It is great at night, when I want coffee and do not want decaf. It is tricky to use in baking and not generally a substitute for other sweeteners because of the bitter part of the taste, but mixed with sugar or Splenda it is wonderful, though keep it out of coffee, because bitter and sweet are great flavors in combination, you can get too much bitter in one gulp. Try it along with another sweetener on cereal, in muffins, made into syrup and other ways your imagination may conceive. It is great stirred in milk, making it taste a lot like mocha but with enough ferrous gluconate and calcium to keep your bones strong and prevent/treat anemia.

Blackstrap molasses is an excellent source of iron, calcium,& magnesium. I take it daily (1 tablespoon) to maintain healthy blood cells and strong bones. It's great mixed with milk,to sweeten tea or any juice. If you're anemic it works quickly to restore your blood levels.

I recently read that Blackstrap Molasses is an effective aide in relieving pain in dogs who have arthritis.
Our dog has been on this product for approximately a month since purchase and we do see some relief. She seems to be a bit more mobile than before taking the product. However, we need more time. On delivery - Fast! Thank you.

Saved my dog, Lars for a while,

We had to put my dog, Lars, down in the end, but this product let him enjoy the last months of his life. The only thing is they have to use the bathroom more but they are more active due to the minerals and vitamins in this supplement. If your dog is showing signs of aging, then give him this and DO NOT STOP. My problem is I stopped due to welcoming a new nephew into the family and we wanted to make sure he would be safe home alone for a few hours more than usual. This was a mistake on my part, but he is a forgiving dog. This is the product for you if your dog is getting or plan old to the point where he/she is having trouble getting up and moving around. I will use this on my next dog from day one just due to seeing my Lars the way he was the last few months. Old dogs acting young was the phrase to represent Lars while he was on Blackstrap - Organic.

As is, potassium content, which is the only reason I buy this tarry stuff (the calcium and iron are good too). The non-organic version I can buy in the local high-end market has 600mg per tablespoon, and I don't know why being "organic" would matter, so maybe you have to take some of these nutrient labels with a grain of salt (just one grain, gotta keep that sodium intake down). In any case, I use it as a supplement, because potassium is so hard to get. One tablespoon or so a day mixed in a cup of warm water works fine, and while the gluey swill can hardly be called appetizing, at least there's no vile aftertaste. It's a bit expensive to buy online, but I'm willing to shell out for that extra potassium. This is the highest I'm aware of, and when you consider the calorie load is only 60 per tbs (like one large date), it's gotta be the single best food supplement available. |
